Saw this on Facebook. As far as I know no one died fighting for the women to vote.

So there is confirmation that she attack him because he said some mean stuff about her online? I originally read this situation as him physically bullying/attacking and when it went to far she fought back. If that were the case then Id supprt her actions in standing up to being attacked.

However if she escalated to physical violence from hearing mean things said about her then kind of behavior isnt acceptable.

ABC 7 link in the story says the online stuff happened and adds that the girl confronted the guy and the guy threw water at her.

I'm confused about the take down move, it looks awkward.

to be honest she probably has a brother/boyfriend that is into highschool wrestling. i used to teach my sisters stuff like that, and shes clearly not making it up as she goes on that take down.

for a proper take down, if you are a righty you take their right leg, if you are a lefty you take their left leg (this can be swapped for a different kind of take down that can be more effective);

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JjgJeq7gFM

  1. you step in and you use your dominant hand to collapse the knee to cause them to shift balance to the opposite leg,
  2. then you can use your supporting hand to grab behind their ankle to collapse the achillies allowing you practically full controll over their leg. (alternatively you can use your dominant foot to do this as part of your step in action
  3. at this point you pull their leg towards you and step into them again placing your shoulder into their stomach, and then push.

anyone who isnt experienced at wrestling counters will be usually dropped by this, and they will go straight to their back(or wherever you direct them).

the counter for this is to essentially "fall" on your opponent, when they capture your leg- you kick out your supporting leg and let the weight of your body fall on them while their center of gravity is low. this puts you in a kneeling position (or better yet, supine and ontop of them with both legs free. the motion of dropping onto your attacker will usually make them drop your leg freeing them both).it puts you in a more stable position that prevents them from throwing you off balance, and allows for you to do pretty much whatever you want to them at this point- your basically laying on their face. you can drop elbows into their back, choke them out with a front choke hold, use your legs to spin on their backs putting you both facing the same way opening up their face for pummeling/more chokeholds ect ect.

the first "flop" he does where he drops to block the leg takedown is proper execution

orrrrrrr you can be a bad ass like this guy and backflip out of it if you miss the flop. (seriously dont do this- hes lucky he didnt break his neck or worse)

I'm not seeing the leg takedown when I slow the video down to 25%. It looks like some weird sweep counter because it seems the guy is going for some sort of headlock right at the beginning.

[–]FFXIV_Machinist 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

oh. they shortened the video. youtube had the full video which shows her initiating the attack (this is hilarious because they took down all copies and only let the ones that show him struggling back). she initially was beating on him and then went for a single leg take down, then when that failed, she tripped him (which again she used a high wrestling take down to accomplish)

[–]Leinadro -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well damn.

In that case I can understand her striking back.

However the "why didnt he just walk away?" crowd will likely stay silent even though if the description you give is true, she could have walked away after he tossed the water at her.

[–]Lethn 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

She has heard of the block function right? And what were these comments? I need context.

[–]buckochips 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

you can pretty much guarantee that they were mild if the report doesn't wanna showcase 'how brave she was' by posting them.

she's being a thug. she went to another school and beat up a student there. where is the outrage?

did she report it to proper authorities and verbally defend herself? nope. thugged out

[–]Lethn 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hadn't double checked that, so he's not even in the same school as her? Well that's definitely a shitty thing to do. If it were something like he was posting messages and also harassing her RL then I would be more understanding because it is not a pleasant thing to go through but it's still nothing to go to that lengths over. If it's only on facebook she could have easily blocked it and ignored anyone taking part.

I will say this though, from personal experience, schools are absolutely shit at dealing with this sort of thing generally and I think part of it has to do with not wanting to look bad. So they either try to make it out as if it's not a big deal or they try and pick the easiest option which is usually the worst.

I'm surprised they seem to be taking the fairly sensible option of suspending the girl though and if the boy is a serious problem he shouldn't be allowed to communicate with her.

Makes me wonder if he just talked shit about her though and she lost it really. I always find it interesting how many feminist publications make these claims about people but never bring any evidence forward but the people they hate so much and claim are so bad are the ones with plenty of evidence to show usually from feminists themselves.

Edit: Wait a minute, is this video actually viral? Where's the original? Is this journalists just lying to try and get a viral video started?

[–]xynomaster 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Where are all the comments talking about how you should only ever use exactly as much force as necessary to fight back? When a girl assaults a boy and he hits back we always hear how he's responsible because he should have used just enough force to escape. When a boy mocks a girl and she hits him, she's some sort of hero. Why?

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Society gives women a carte blanche to act violently towards men. So men better be prepared to get their asses kicked by this new generation of aggressive enabled women and girls if their behavior is somehow deemed offensive.

[–]buckochips 16 points17 points18 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

let's reverse roles. if a guy kneed a girl in the face twice, would it matter what she did to him? would the crowd whoop it up after? its sickening

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope, he would be beaten to a pulp by a tsunami of white knights. The MRM would be wise to recognize that the whole reverse-the-roles & double standards mindset is a dead end. The treatment for men and women in this society is starkly different and women will not be held to the same standards as men for equally bad behavior.

[–]King-Achelexus -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Seems good enough reason to tell boys to learn to defend themselves better, if anything.

[–]SkoobyDee 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would have to see what the "cyberbullying" actually entailed. Maybe he had it coming.

It is however fascinating to see the response of grown women practically having orgasms over seeing a boy beaten -- including the author linked.

The kid was in an impossible situation. If he fought back he would have been crucified in the media, to say nothing of the white knights who would come running.

We are raising a generation of females who think physical violence against males is not only acceptable but laudatory. And the "adult" females cheer right along. Not a bad deal given that males are not allowed to fight back. Who's the bully again?

[–]HerbertRTarlekJr 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So it's okay to knee someone in the face if you don't like what they said about you? If I were that boy's father, the girl would be in jail, and I'd soon own everything that currently belongs to her parents. You don't have to ask what would happen if the genders were reversed.

[–]bertreapot 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The linked ABC7 story still tries to spin it as a matter of the boy bullying the girl online, not the girl beating the shit out of the dude at school. Keep job of keeping it feminist, media /s

[+]AlwaysABride -6 points-5 points-4 points 10 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I got no sympathy for bullies

[–]mwobuddy 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Which one?

[–]Lethn -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, assuming the guy was harassing her, they're both cunts I have no sympathy for.

[+]AlwaysABride -6 points-5 points-4 points 10 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I got no sympathy for the one who got his ass kicked.

Of course, that presumes that the alleged cyberbullying actually warranted a beat down. The article simply said "cyberbullied" but didn't give details of what that entailed. I'm taking it at face value.

[–]mwobuddy 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

So a bully with a vagina is superior morally.

[–]AlwaysABride -5 points-4 points-3 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Nope. Someone (any gender, I don't care) who kicks a bully's ass is morally superior.

What you're getting at is that sometimes someone thinks their a victim when they really aren't and then they become the bully. I'm assuming that is not the case here. But due to lack of details in the article, we really don't know.

The only point where gender really would enter into this thread at all is if (a) the boy wasn't actually being a bully and (b) due to expectations and legal enforcement, the boy was unable to defend himself because it was a girl kicking his ass.

[–]Captaincastle 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Cyber bullying equals public beat down? That math doesn't check out.

[–]AlwaysABride -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Again. No details are given about the specifics of the alleged bullying.

But, yeah, actual bullying is deserving of a public beat down in my opinion.

[–]Captaincastle 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Then we'll just have to agree to disagree
