This happened a few years ago I think. This made the news and the girl was prosecuted? If I remember correctly, she said that her life was ruined after the video made it online because of the abuse she got off the local town folk.

No sympathy here.

I've been trying for the last hour to find some articles on this incident but to no avail. It happened back in 2012 and was in Liverpool, UK. In the video you can hear one of the group shout out the attackers name "Jess". If you type in her name and the year and location into Google, it has that notification at the bottom of the search 'Some results may have been removed under data protection law in Europe' pops up.

I think she got harassed so much, she's requested to have the news articles removed and withdrawn but there are still countless videos and forum posts about her, even one where she's been name and shamed in a facebook video. From one website that I saw, people are still to this day sending her messages on FB about it.
