I'll do everyone a favour and sum this up in two words: "citation needed".

Other than that, it's a black woman projecting her experiences (real or mostly made up/blown out of proportion, we'll never know) on the school system as a whole. Most listed "ways" don't even have to do with the curriculum or teaching, but rather revolve around how she felt when experiencing micro-aggressions.

Most of the time when I read feminist articles there's at least one point I can agree with. A common sense observation that cannot be denied.

However, this article is complete shit. I can't agree with a single thing she says. She makes claims about discrimination against non-english speakers and little girls interested in STEM fields, but that's a giant load of horse crap.

She was raised to be bitter and angry at the system and now she's taking it out on little boys. Children. She's angry at children. And now she's teaching the next generation to be just as bitter.

Wow, 13 reasons, yet only 3 apply to white male, most of these reasons are race biased and social economically biased. Saying that STEM programs aren't turning away males is a privilege? Male authors is pushing white male privilege? Pushing western math and science is white male privilege? Holy shit as a black male most of these "white male" privileges I got to benefit from due to my parents being middle class. I could honestly go through each of those "reasons" and argue against each and everyone of them. My God has feminism really turned into white male hate?

Yet another example of the overly sensitive culture we have today. The first example got to me the most. She implies that only minorities are "victims" to the family tree assignment. First off I don't consider myself as a victim, I am white and male but my family tree only had me my parents and my grandparents on my mothers side. My father was an orphan who never meet or knew his parents names.

I do remember that the purpose of the assignment was to motivate myself and classmates to talk to their grandparents and ask about how they grew up and what it was like. Problem with my family is we hardly talk to each other. I've only recently found out my grandmothers maiden name but it took 13 strokes for her to open up about our family. And I'm not kidding about how many strokes she's had. She has the will to live that for sure.

We live in a time where people take everything personal. Somebody cuts you off on the highway and your first thought is "that bastard cut me off how dare he" I've seen people get so angry that they go ballistic and try to run the guy off the road. There's been time where I've cut people off and never realized they were there to begin with. I know bad on me for not checking my blind spots.

I fear for the youth in this society because they are growing up conditioned to take this personally and be over sensitive on every subject. Because of this sensitivity they won't be able to truly grow up happy. They will always be upset about what some knucklehead said or they will be afraid to speak their mind in fear of being labeled a bigot, racist or sexiest.

It's gotten so bad that I say hi to someone in the mall and their response is "your only being nice because your racist" I didn't know what to think. I was in a good mood and felt like expressing that fact. We've had a lot of rain in my area over the past year I was leaving a gas station while it's raining, I see couple people heading in so I hold the door for them, the male said thank you and his girlfriend said " don't thank him he's just sexiest pig, thinks he better than me so he holds the door open" I was speechless and the guy looked me like he had no idea what just happened. Has the world real got to the point where can no longer be polite? I would hope not...

I love how everyone "was a nerd." Sorry, but making good grades and wearing thick rimmed glasses does not make you a nerd.

Being a "nerd" isn't something that you are because you like Star Wars(it was one of the highest grossing films in it's day and continues to be insanely popular, everyone likes Star Wars), neither does gaming(one of the most popular and lucrative entertainment system, FAR more people play video games than don't) or got good grades(wanting to get good grades in school, look out, we have a fucking maverick over here).

A nerd is a response, not a cause, to complete social ostracization. You are disliked by your peers and feel abandoned, so you seek out escapism into which you can pour your efforts into to escape the reality of the shitty life people forced onto you.

Being a nerd does not make you smarter and more successful later in life, it makes you depressed and unlikely to be successful, plus it has a high rate of suicide. I'm tired of hearing people claiming to be a "nerd" or a "geek" as they push actual nerds and geeks further out of the social caste.

That's rich privilege, not white privilege. Upper class people are more likely to be white in the US, but that does not mean all whites have that privilege. The whites who went to the same school as you did not experience any privilege.

Science and math don't care about your race, gender, culture or feelings. You mention natives, yet if their culture provided some scientific background which others don't have, it would give them an advantage, not hold them back. Science and math are right or wrong. And the first example you give is clock boy, who went out of his way to make an alarm clock that looks like a bomb, comes from a privileged home, got to meet the president over it, got a scholarship over it and is now suing the school for millions over it. Millions the school won't have for the other kids who don't come from rich families. Many of whom are whites, by the way.

No one is told that STEM fields isn't for them. That is a lie made up by people like you, whose closest thing to a defense of the statement is that STEM fields don't adapt for you. Being able to speak the language of the country you live in is not privilege. Not speaking the language of the country you live in isn't oppression. If you live in the US, speak english.

Yeah, that’s true on aggregate. White's are advantaged in our society as a group. No arguments there.
Not really a major issue, but I don’t doubt there’s overrepresentation.
Doesn’t really matter unless you’ve already been taught another method or it is demonstrably better for some people to learn other methods. Teaching several different ways to do the same thing is a time sink and could confuse people.

It would be kind of confusing to have multiple languages in schools. Teachers and other students can’t know every single language, so even if everyone learned yours someone else might speak a different language. Goofy point.

The part about dress codes inherently being biased against girls is non-sense. Many times there are stricter regulations against boys.
That’s simply not true anymore, if it ever was.
I think the opposite tends to be true. Besides, boys are the ones struggling in school, not girls. She seems ignorant of this.
This isn’t the students' fault or the system’s fault. The racial aspect of this is largely a function of parental involvement and educational levels. The gender division is that there are either less girls with autism, or it is harder to recognize in girls, or some combination thereof.
White students also learn that their ancestors were racist, imperializing, slave owners. Even if their own particular ancestors were not. That’s not so romanticized.
All I can say is we studied all sorts of places like China, India, pre-colonial North America several times, but we never had a unit studying the place where the majority of my ancestory originated from.

My mother's side of the family was poorer than my father's side.

My father's side is less white (of mixed race) than my mother's side.

Everything he lists is true for my father's side of well off mixed race people but not true of my mother's side of poor and white.

But don't let that stop you from thinking all black people everywhere are living one specific lifestyle (poor and uneducated) and all white people everywhere are living one specific lifestyle (upper middle class and highly educated).

Is my mother's poverty getting in the way of your narrative? Is my father's genetics inconvenient?

What does this make me? An affluent poor white man who's still trying to push the natives into extinction? Or a middle class native succeeding despite the evils my mother's family has commited against me?

I can trace my father's tree back centuries. My mother? She knows the name of her grandparents.

What a numbskull. There's a reason Ancestry.com and DNA testing is so popular-- most people need a lot of help tracing their family tree. I would say anyone with a working class heritage is going to run into a lot of gaps due to adoptions and a relative lack of records for poor people.
