Maybe its a step FORWARD for women, when they feel the vulnerability and shame that can follow a rape experience, to see that men also can be victims, and maybe that will help them move on as they realize rape isn't about gender.

And, of course, they run the stock two myths:

a) If we put men and women side by side, the women will be terrified! Uh, only if you consciously cater to and promote the notion that they should generalize their fear of their intimate partner to all men in general. Keeping people segregated contributes to that perception, rather than defeating it.

b) Men are only 5% of the victims, so paying attention to them detracts from the overwhelming female victimhood! Yeah, only if you decide arbitrarily that with men you're going to stick to reported statistics. We've known for decades that there's more victims out there than those who walk into police stations to report, and when we go to the public directly, that under reporting issue isn't small. It's already a big problem for women, but it's even a larger problem for men. The real ratio isn't 1 in 20, it's more like 1 in 4 or even 1 in 3. Retreating to the police statistics in order to consciously minimize male victimhood by pretending they never see under reporting is dishonest as hell.
