I assume the guy that stopped her got charged with assault or kidnapping or worse.

[–]Everything_Is_Rape 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

he should be charged with rape

[–]dontpet -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well, I saw him rape her and agree, u/everything-is-rape. What do you think?

[–]dbx99 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Definitely raped. By the patriarchy.

[–]insult_everything -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

charge rape : The action of raping someone by charging at them.

[–]BigJ76 52 points53 points54 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Very true. Reverse the roles and suddenly it becomes "assault". If a man ran onto a field and grabbed a girl's butt, he better make damn sure he followed the rules first:

  1. Be attractive

  2. Don't be unattractive

[–]Revoran 19 points20 points21 points 10 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

I would say the girl in the photo is average looking at best.

But maybe it's just that photo. After all, being a fucking creep who sexually assaults people isn't a good look.

[–]sizzletron 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

She looks like a half-finished sculpture in lard. Get back to work, Michelangelo!

[–]Dazz316 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

This is what a feminist will quote if they simple upon this post and want something to devalue the whole thing.

[–]djab1 -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Well, it's like terrorism. They're trying to alter your way of life and the way you talk by random senseless attacks like taking things out of context and blasting them in the media to confuse the public and turn them against us.

Don't let that happen. Be free to say what ever you feel is right.

[–]Dazz316 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What he said wasn't right though was it. I think it's fair comment from one person to another but it's not doing us any good and doesn't have a place in a forum like this.

OP is making a serious point and he just makes a jokey coment about being "a half-finished sculpture in lard". Keep on point.

They have a fire going which we want to put, let's not fuel it.

[–]djab1 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're right on that. I just get a bit fired up on these issues. Makes me furious when other people try to lower our standard of living due to their own selfishness and hatred.

Its a mad word.

[–]oneiorosgripwontstfu 7 points8 points9 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's lacking a piece. To be a true "in a nutshell" image, it needs a feminist responding that a chaotic ass-grabbing field invasion would be worse if a man did it to women because women face systematic institutionalized oppression... and then to claim that the other commenter's belief that the two are the same is evidence of said oppression... and then to block/report him if he makes a rational response countering that assertion.

[–]EjaculationStorm -3 points-2 points-1 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Expect the picture itself has nothing to do with feminism.

[–]djab1 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It has everything to do with feminism. See, the joke is that feminists push their own agenda under big words like equality, when in all reality it's anything BUT equality.

As seen in this picture, where a person sexually assaults the other sex and yet the public views it as cute and funny. Yet if you change genders of the parties involved, it turns into disgusting, degrading, objectifying and all the other punch words the feminists like to throw around.

[–]EjaculationStorm 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The woman grabbing asses wasn't doing it as a feminist statement. She's did it presumably as a prank, just for fun. The commenter in the image is simply remarking how it would be different, and I totally agree. But just as MRAs don't want to be blamed for shit like Elliot rogers, we can't blame feminism for one person being a douche. This is an individual circumstance, and there is more than enough bullshit to attribute to feminism without reaching like this.

[–]djab1 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Maybe Im not wording it right and thats my fault, but what Im trying to tell you is that the woman in this picture, though important, only plays a minor part. It is how the public responds to her act that is important. Im not saying at all that she is a feminist or is doing it to make a statement and thats not the point. Again, its how other people respond to it and how the public has come to accept that it is okay for any woman to sexually assault a man, while it isnt when the man is committing the crime.

[–]EjaculationStorm 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah that's very true. Unfortunately the above commenter deleted his thread and I don't really remember what I was arguing against.

[–]fafa1234 9 points10 points11 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Feminism got to where it is by saying that men can do whatever they want and creating awareness about it.

This is our way of doing that, regardless of it being a cheap shot or not, we have to fight fire with fire. If it worked for women, it can work for us also.

Didn't men used to have power? Let's use that to our advantage.

People say that we here at men's rights play the victim. Who gives a shit. The truth is that because of the double standard, men are seeing a decrease in their quality of life because of the demonizing of the male gender, we have less freedom now because political correctness keeps us locked in a jail of politeness.

We must fight fire with fire.

[+]Mechanical_Garden 10 years ago* [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link

That's stupid. The answer to sexual assault is sexual assault? Obviously that would only incite anger in both feminists and mras and not do anything constructive. This is exactly the type of reactionary tantrum that we're accusing feminists of and you want to stoop to their level? So stupid. Stupid, and if this image made you upset, hypocritical as well.

[+]fafa1234 10 years ago [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

You are correct, this is an exact tantrum that a feminist would use. Which is why it will work. Because if women made it work for them, we can make it work for us.

[–]Promotheos 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This is not a reasonable or sustainable strategy

[–]djab1 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. It's how humans operate.

[–]Datastream1 point 10 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I don't think the world of politics is reasonable at all. All policies seem to be made by emotion anyway.

[–]Mechanical_Garden1 point 10 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Over the summer I visited my racist bigot of a grandfather in the states. We got in to an argument about gay rights and I countered every point he made with logic and reason. It got to the point where his only defense of his position was that gay people offend him and that if feminists/tumblerinas can use that argument to get their way then why can't he? Because it's ignorant and doesn't solve any problems. Basically, what you're saying is that you're not smart enough to come up with a valid solution, so you're willing to stoop to the level of the lowest western civilization has to offer. Acting on being offended in this way is so unbelievably childish and instead of being a cunt and saying, "if you can do it I can to," educate yourself so you can form an intelligent thought on the subject.

Edit: grammar

[–]sizzletron 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I see she wore her trashiest outfit out of the trailer park.

[–]DillipFayKick 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Frank Meza said all that needs to be said.

[–]Ser_Rodrick_Cassel -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

haha whoosh

[–]Promotheos 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It simply points out the hypocrisy, which is useful on it's own.

One shouldn't be obligated to write a dissertation just for sharing a screenshot, as anyone who wants to supplement with their ideas on solutions is free to engage in a dialogue about it.

[–]djab1 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just pointing out the very obvious double standard.

[–]geniice -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]HotSauciness -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

that one was a much better post too. It focused on the double standard (you know, the actual issue) instead of pushing the issue aside and bringing up feminism out of the blue so we can have our daily "hurr feminism is so stupid huh?" circlejerk.

[–]Lhtfoot 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But... The double-standard is a result of feminism.

[–]djab1 -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminism and double standards are almost interchangeable terms.

[+]HotSauciness -15 points-14 points-13 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

" Facebook posts must be done w/ screenshot & blanked names. "

Aside from that, this just seems like taking cheap potshots at feminism for the sake of it. Pointlessly bringing up feminism all the time isn't helping anybody, the woman wasn't a feminist (that we know of) and most non-feminists support this double-standard.

[–]djab1 -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Doesn't matter if she's a feminist or not. It's how the public views this incident that matters.

[–]HotSauciness -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You're not making any sense. If it doesn't matter whether she's a feminist or not then why is your title "feminism in a nutshell"? If it's the public views that matter then why aren't you attacking the public's views instead of feminists that had nothing to do with this until you brought them up for pointless ranting?

[–]djab1 -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not attacking anybody. Just pointing out the obvious double standard. And the feminists have very much to do with it since they conditioned the public to believe that what this woman does is acceptable, but if a man does it it's not. It's the same with male vs female teachers having sex with students. Men get jailed for life while women get a slap on the wrist.

[+]BoredDead -25 points-24 points-23 points 10 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Feminism does recognize there is sexism against men. Feminists wouldn't think this is fair either.

[–]Idk-my-name 17 points18 points19 points 10 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

oh yeah? why am i not hearing the call for equal punishment for this woman?

[–]nowaygreg 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not saying it's not out there, but I am saying I've never seen it in any of the places I've looked.

Read sentencing. This is a feminist document.

[–]soulless_ging -3 points-2 points-1 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I don't know, why don't MRAs take catcalling seriously? They say it's not a big deal and some people enjoy it, so we shouldn't stop anyone from doing it. That if it hurts your "feelz," that's your problem.

Feminists do not go out of their way to admonish poor behavior from women in the same way that MRAs don't go out of their way to admonish poor behavior by men. To say they're responsible for reacting to every bad thing a woman does anywhere at any time is just ridiculous.

[–]such-a-mensch 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Have you seen the catcall youtube video that made the rounds earlier in the year? The reason MRA's don't take cat calling seriously is because feminists have already proven they manipulate perception on the topic making it impossible to have a legitimate discussion about it.

When "feminists" want to start having discussions about equality, the MRA folks will be waiting.

[–]soulless_ging -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I haven't seen the video, but regardless of what some feminists said, it doesn't change the fact that cat calling is gross behavior.

But you missed my larger point, which was it's not feminism's job to police all women, just like it's not the MRA's job to police all men.

[–]Idk-my-name 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Simple answer. The MRM is aimed towards equality for men. While feminism claims equality for all.

[–]soulless_ging 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I never understood where this is coming from. The basic definition is equality for women. It's a women's rights movement.

[–]Idk-my-name 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Exactly. They should probably stop claiming that its about equality for everyone.

[–]soulless_ging 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't think they are, or at least the large majority of them aren't.
