I feel like every single term in social justice terminology has a totally unobjectionable and obviously important meaning – and then is actually used a completely different way.

The closest analogy I can think of is those religious people who say “God is just another word for the order and beauty in the Universe” – and then later pray to God to smite their enemies. And if you criticize them for doing the latter, they say “But God just means there is order and beauty in the universe, surely you’re not objecting to that?” ....

The writers of the paper compare this to a form of medieval castle, where there would be a field of desirable and economically productive land called a bailey, and a big ugly tower in the middle called the motte. If you were a medieval lord, you would do most of your economic activity in the bailey and get rich. If an enemy approached, you would retreat to the motte and rain down arrows on the enemy until they gave up and went away. Then you would go back to the bailey, which is the place you wanted to be all along.

By this metaphor, statements like “God is an extremely powerful supernatural being who punishes my enemies” or “The Sky Ox theory and the nuclear furnace theory are equally legitimate” or “Men should not be allowed to participate in discussions about gender” are the bailey – not defensible at all, but if you can manage to hold them you’ve got it made.

While I will agree with the author that there are some feminists that are concerned over these issues, they aren't doing a single thing to address them. When was the last time you saw a feminist leader discussing these issues or making a call to action over any of them? The simple truth is that they don't care. Sure, they might not want these things to happen, but it never even shows up on their radars'. As many people have experienced when speaking to a feminist about these issues, they are often dismissed immediately because they don't pertain to women. "Men are already favored in society so we need to focus on womyn's problems." How many times have you heard that? So no, don't claim that these things are part of feminism. It's just a simple way to dismiss the MRM as inconsequential. Feminists don't understand because they are too busy worrying about their own plight and blaming everyone else for their problems.

Ideally, I would hope that all the things that she says that are in line with MRAs are what she really believes. But let me get to the point of a patriarchy. A patriarchy is a household system where the father is the head of the house, and ideally when he dies, the oldest son takes over. How does that have to dwal with gender discrimination? In the past men established themselves as the head of the households, and look where we've gotten. It does not lead to gender discrimination. Many matriarchial societies, normally those of natives such as American Indians etc don't exist anymore for a plethora of reasons, mainly because western culture overtook native culture. We all have a somewhat western culture in the US, and that is how it will be forever
