If parents hand their infant over to a third party for the purpose of fondling that infant's genitalia all three adults could and should be charged with child sexual abuse. However doing so for the purpose of cutting bits off those same genitalia is, apparently, perfectly OK.

Medical circumcision or adult circumcision are fine. You are free to choose what to do with your own body.

Infant circumcision is absolutely not okay. Violation of human rights, an infant cannot consent to a permanently altering elective procedure that has no advantages or medical purpose. Not to mention it is child abuse to do this procedure without anaesthetics. This procedure continues only because it is a billion dollar industry, where both politicians and a large group of medical professionals think money is more important than male infant bodily integrity.

Anyway even if you don't remember past pains, you still had the pain You had to live it. When it was in the present, you cried from pain.

There's no benefits of doing it, so no benefits of doing it as a child

I feel nobody but me should have been able to given consent to mutilate my penis without some actual medical need for the procedure... especially before I was old enough to understand anything about it.

We hate it. Duh. Mostly because it's done without anesthesia to a baby who screams his way through the fucking thing -- and this in a society that will put you on trial if you bob your dog's tail at home rather than at a vet's. If circumcision is so fucking wonderful, let all men make up their own minds when they turn 18.

its wrong, if people want to circumcise people then they should get it done when they are old enough to make an informed choice.

funny thing is when people are given a choice about having their foreskin removed they mostly choose not to. its almost as if they do it to babies because its their chance to do something when the recipient cannot complain.

You feel fine because you've never known anything different. The truth is that male genital cutting results in a number of different kinds of penile damage: the excision of thousands of nerve endings, keratinization of the glans, drying out of the glans and loss of the mechanical gliding function of the foreskin.

Me personally: Botched, had to have it redone at 18, additional loss of sexual pleasure.

It's mutilation and should not be performed on someone uder the age of consent unless absolutely medically necessary.

The "benefits" are smoke screens. The real benefit IS the foreskin. They remove the most important part of his sexual organ to break the boy's spirits to make him into a man who denies his feelings and who goes along with authority so that he will be easier to manipulate and control.

Easier hygiene ... Decreased risk of urinary tract infections ... Decreased risk of sexually transmitted infections ... Prevention of penile problems ... Decreased risk of penile cancer ... reduction of masturbation (it causes blindness, you know), and general improvement in morality - and we all know that boys could do with a good dose of that.

Isn't it interesting that such a long list of advantages is given for this "procedure"? New ones are thought up all the time.

It's almost as if there is some other reason for it which we are hiding by all these excuses.

I'm against any non medically (and I don't mean theoretically could be a problem some day) needed permanent procedures done to children.

Once you are an adult I don't care what you do, but until then noone should be snipping any of your bits off without a direct medical issue being corrected.
