This is what really shocks me about feminists calling oppression. When in history was there a single time that an oppressed group had this much power? I bet in the 1920s in was just casual conversation to say you hated blacks and I bet the universities, governments, and corporations didn't have to pander to blacks and do whatever the blacks said. Blacks were actually oppressed.

Can you imagine what it'd be like if blacks in the 1920s tried to read to white children about how evil they are? Those whites wouldn't be holding their heads down in shame. It's truly bizarre to me how feminists think women are actually oppressed.

I actually like this analogy. One imagines that no other oppressed group could ever talk down of another, at any time in history. It is testament to the fact that women are no oppressed by the way their feminist counterparts are allowed to talk down to other groups.

"To learn who rules you, find who you cannot criticize" - Voltaire

As much as I think those words make sense we should be careful using the quote as it was not actually Voltare:

http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Voltaire#Misattributed

It is apparently from Kevin Strom, a white supremacist who was caught with child porn.

What the feminists want of me is something they haven't examined because it comes from religion. They want me to bear witness. What they would really like me to say is, 'Ha, sisters, I stand with you side by side in your struggle toward the golden dawn where all those beastly men are no more.' Do they really want people to make oversimplified statements about men and women? In fact, they do. I've come with great regret to this conclusion.

A conspiracy theory on another such woman who broke the narrative.

It's sad because these boys in the classroom, including myself, grew up with the mentality of doing everything they could not to upset mother or any authoritative female. So when a female teacher starts inflicting this mental guilt on boys, it takes root.

So for all you women who keep asking where have all the good men gone; ask your fellow women who shame young boys into submission. These young boys who grow up and make YouTube videos about how they are a proud male feminist and continue to use the same shaming tactics they were taught.

All you women asking where the good men have gone; instead ask what's causing this and how to fix it.

Men seem to be so cowed that they can't fight back, and it is time they did.

A lot do. Not with violence, just by not playing the game.

I had not known that Lessing had said this. I found The Guardian article that reported on what she said: http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2001/aug/14/edinburghfestival2001.edinburghbookfestival2001

Femessiahism is a overly powerful Religion for people (mostly women) who wish to worship hateful lies, slanted tactics and double standards.

‘God is going to change. We women… will change the world so much that He won’t fit anymore.’

  • Naomi Goldenberg, Changing of the Gods: Feminism and the End of Traditional Religions (Quoted at beginning of From Father God to Mother Earth)

That quote reminded me of this video. I don't know how yall feel about Robert Blyth. But I find this to be relevant to today's issues...https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TP3HWLIL1Aw

[–]tonyespresso 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Whatever happened to the mythopoeic men's movement?

I've spent some time in Bly's books, and Michael Meade's, and James Hillman's--very valuable work. We men need some strong, rational, wise voices--and probably a lot else besides.

[–]5yearsinthefuture 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wondered that as well. Blyth makes some very insightful comments. I haven't read the others that you mentioned. But I will check them out.

Men seem to be so cowed that they can't fight back, and it is time they did.

Still all our fault, then.

[–]5HourEnergyExtra 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's more describing a situation and offering encouragement than typical male-blaming.

[–]Arby01 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

An observation is not blame.

[–]typhonblue 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't think it's blame, but you are right.

Men shouldn't have to fight back; women should be doing it for them.

[–]cyrux 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Can you not accept the vast majority of what she said was more perfect and eloquent and persuasive than anything you have or ever will write, without shitting your panties over one fucking word?

You're pathetic.
