I see a lot of comments saying that people are 'anti-feminist' or opposed to feminism without distinguishing between any forms of feminism.

All feminism is based on the belief that women are systematically disadvantaged or oppressed, that men have power in society and women do not, and that the only way to reach equality is to give more power and privilege to women.

"Different forms" of feminism are therefore irrelevant, since all of them are wrong.

I am therefore against all feminism.

I am convinced that the theoretical bases for all feminism represent a misstatement of history and gender facts. Regardless of whatever social engineering projects--sans impact plans--that have proceeded from feminist victories, the rationale as stated for feminism is flawed and indefensible factually and logically. I can see women's rights as flowing as much from the general trend towards greater equality and human rights as much as from any victories by feminism.

A policy is normally considered discriminatory if it has the result of discriminating against a group - no matter what the policy makers say was their intent.

Most people find their way to this subreddit after being discriminated against as a result of feminist policies. Myself, I had a female housemate try to pick a fight with me, then call the cops. I was very lucky I had my girlfriend as a female witness.

Stay a while, read some links - you might find out why so many people are anti-feminist.

There's no meaningful distinction between the forms. Feminism of any form is based on the same basic ideas and concepts. The different "types" of feminism are only different in the conclusions they make about the world and the solutions they propose.However since it's those basic ideas and concepts that are false, the resulting "type" of feminist does not matter. It's simply different versions of wrong.

There is not much need to distinguish between different kinds of feminism because its hypocritical, misandrist and gynocentric form is by far the most influential while the true feminists of true equality who do not hate men™ stick to lip service.

Why should I bother to support a form of feminism which you can only find in the comment sections of articles that demonstrate usual feminist bigotry? Because that's pretty much the only place where you find those so called "moderate" feminists who "care about men too". Can't find them on the streets. Can't find them in the congress. Can't find them in college administrations.

Feminism is only seen as an all encompassing universe of diversity from it's adherents..From an external perspective their are unifying themes that unique identify it, many of them such as patriarchy theory are disprovable assertions about society and human behavior that rationally thinking people inherently find repulsive.

There is only one form of feminism that matters and that form is the mainstream "Big F" Feminism...that is the feminism that has influence and impact on how we live our lives. It is responsible for things like the Duluth Model, VAWA and lack of due process rights in campus rape trials. The so-called "good" feminists don't have any power to do anything so they are irrelevant. Although I'm not opposed to them as individuals, I am opposed to feminism in general. Just because there are a few KKK members who are good people and keep their hate to themselves, doesn't mean that the KKK as a whole shouldn't be opposed.

The only "other" kind of feminism I've seen is that espoused by Christina Sommers - a person your typical feminist hates and doesn't even call a feminist. I could agree with her definition of feminism, however, her positions are the minority among feminists.

When people talk about hating feminism what they usually mean is politically active feminism. With politically active feminism we get the Duluth model of DV, the destruction of due process, the monopolization of public resources for women, the gender wage gap lie, the deliberate ignoring/minimization of problems effecting men etc. Where an issue isn't inherently horrible (like decreasing rape, who doesn't support that?) feminist solutions are abominable (e.g. destroying due process).

While there may be many people who call themselves feminists working quietly behind the scenes for the betterment of mankind, the public face of feminism (the political activism) is universally horrendous.

A lot of "feminists" I know are actually mislabeled egalitarians or at least rational human beings. These I don't mind. It's the radfems who actually have power that I am opposed to.

I'm against hypocrisy, special treatment, favoritism, etc and I'm against those that promote it for any group but there are people like Christina Hoff Sommers who promote for women and men being treated fairly I will support regardless of tge label they take for themselves.

Yes, It's a form of feminism which I am opposed to. Specifically, it's the feminism which pushes a narrative in which women in general are oppressed by men in general.

However, I am opposed to the feminist movement as a whole because this movement provides a platform and a shield for the specific feminists I have an issue with.

I heard many feminist over 50 are just as baffled as we are, but I have no evidence.

There are still important issues women need to fight for, there are issuses men need to fight for. Every group has issues. However, what shirt a man wears and fighting over a media they for the most part have no experience about is bullshit.

There is a difference between the societal institution of feminism as a supremacist movement hellbent on exclusionary principles, female victimhood, and media influence and people who identify as feminist. Feminists come in a plethora of different variations, so to clarify what is the true thing anti-feminists oppose is the ideology of feminism itself. Though the term implies that anti-feminists are against feminists themselves, the term anti-feminism doesn't make sense in terms of its use as a noun. Essentially, an anti-feminist is anti-feminism. Anti-feminism is the adjective, anti-feminist is the noun that defines the person against feminism itself.

I am opposed to all forms of feminism and all forms of "Progressive Movements" Here's why. One of the major issues with a lot of social movements I find is that everybody demands for 'Equality' but there seems to be little in terms of understanding to exactly what that means. This becomes even more problematic in cultures that exhibit inequality in multiple different ways.

And for five seconds, we're going to pass over the dual dance of fetishizing/trivializing movements that has become a norm for a lot of hegemonic discourses throughout the last couple of hundred years.

For instance, Women demanding equality between men and women. Is this to mean they want the accessibility to the same 'equality' given to men in low economic life styles? In more cases, I find the movements are stiffled because the main problem with 'equality' is that they're looking at those on top and demanding equal treatment with them.

This is difficult to acquire because even, focussing on Gender/Sex here, even men living just above the poverty time are given few if any chances to advance themselves up the economic latter to these vaunted roles. The people at the top remain at the top because it's in their best interest to keep EVERYBODY beneath them. So fighting for the equality of one group invariably means ignoring the plights of another group.

This gets even more convoluted because now you have different groups of people, none of which necessarily more or less deserving to be up there, all clawing at each other's eyes and trying to argue louder than the other in hopes of being heard.

In essence, they fight for unity while by and large being ununified in practice. These groups are segmented, fractured, and even as small as they are, are prone to splintering even further into other groups all demanding the same slice of pie. Effectively this means that by and large, change becomes meaningless, because the second one group gets heard and are catered to, the next group in line will be the first to point out how they've been ignored.
