I like how even the murderous son still admits that his murderous mother also deserved to be beaten, at least sometimes. Just a great family dynamic going on there.

For context: mutual abuse typically escalates, back and forth, until someone does it gets out. She escalated farther, faster.

I'd be curious to know about prior to her attack- if the abuse was mutual, or one-sided... Statistically, she was probably the first to go physical.

After the attack, it was clearly mutual: so there were no victims here. It was still tragic, and avoidable, and she should have been arrested for her attack with the knife, and he should have gotten out afterwards instead of returning and joining in on/continuing the cycle of abuse.... But there was nothing but fubar'd all the way around.

This whole situation is icky. Woman should have moved out, OR he should have moved out, but staying together sounded like it put both of them in physical danger.
