Why don't you dig up the same numbers for Jewish people, and then ask them what they think of the overrepresentation of Jews in positions of influence, power and politics? Jews ARE overrepresented in many influential spheres. Is it because of pervasive "Jew privilege" or perhaps "non-Jew subjugation"? Because frankly, I think that would be silly to say--and bigoted.

Looking at those prestigious positions hardly gives you a good picture of America. Why not look at Doctors, Teachers, Tradesmen, Lawyers, Sportsmen, TV presenters, Computer programers, policemen....

because if you did you would find that in certain fields Asians are very well represented, in other fields jews are very well represented, in other fields Mexicans are very well represented.

America is a nation founded by white european men so it is no surprise that white european men are well represented in government. It has only been in the last 20 years that americas demographics have rapidly changed.

Why are jews over-represented as lawyers, why are blacks over represented as athlete, why are women over represented as teachers, why are gays over represented on sit coms.... because certain groups excel at certain things.

Apex Fallacy.

The House, The Senate, the Foutune 400 CEO's, Athletic team owners and US Presidents total about 1,000 people. 1,000 people is 0.00006% of the population. When your talking the best of the best of the best of the best the minute differences in race and gender are a real factor. Just as it's not racism that White people don't qualify for the 100m dash in the Olympic Games, It's not racism or sexism that keeps blacks and women out of these top 100 positions.

Tenured positions in higher education is something else. Tenure is for life. So Profs that got tenure 40 years ago when higher education was sexist against women still have tenure today. The portion of tenure profs is a legacy affect of past discrimination. If there is still a diversity issue with tenure that will be determined by looking at who got tenure LAST YEAR, not who got tenure over the past 60.

...White men occupy 0% of U.S. Presidents. There's only one president and it's a black guy. They're probably referring to presidents of all time, but that's different than all the others statistics quoted which seem to be about current people. (Otherwise I would think the percentage of Representatives/senators would be much higher) Quoting the number of presidents of a certain race shows nothing about the current state of the county.

So the poster has proved women CAN do it but they're just too lazy to get equal representation.

Or you could just show the statistics of the worst paid jobs in western society and ask why they're almost exclusively male occupied.

OR you can show the clear asymmetry between university places and minority populations, are the minorities, of which I happen to be a member, using minority privilege? Is the majority being oppressed?

Alright enough bullshit! You asked a question so now I need to actually answer.

1) Women also make up the majority of tenured positions in specific subjects, while they're 20% they are not 20% across the field, they make up more than 50% in specific fields. Even many of the men hold feminist ideals. So between those two facts, women CAN get into these positions and they choose not to.. Maybe because of the male work ethic more men are willing to and actively aiming for the mountain top of their field?

2) Women make up the majority of eligible voters and also the majority of actual voters in pretty much, if not all elections in the U.S.A. I am in no position to disagree with women that men make better politicians, that's what they keep telling us with their votes, anyway. Oh and by the way when women run they have favorable odds. If I have 4 spaces that need filling and 9 men and 1 woman run and 3 men and the one women win, the woman only made up 10% of the opening pool but 25% of the final grouping. Same applies with politics but with different numbers.

3) is the same as 2.

4) Once again women CAN get to this position but they choose not to. Not to mention the statistic that EVERY FEMINIST should know: More women go into managerial positions at an entry level but they are less and less represented as they get to the upper positions, maybe they don't like the constant pressure of the job? It seems like a solid decision to follow your own ambitions whether or not they lie at the top of a corporate pyramid.

5) Men are more interested in sport...men are also more physically capable of performing at higher levels in sports...men are more prone to risk, if nothing else buying a sports team is a risk, requires high maintenance and management. If anything the fact that 10% are female is a surprise.

6) When you start with between an 80 to 85% lead, have a group that is more prone to competition and is willing to take on the most stressful jobs do you really find it a surprise that most presidents are men? Women elected them. If women wanted a female president, by the nature of an election and the female advantage in the voting demographics, they'd already have one! By the way why is a vagina a prerequisite to acting on behalf of women? Is that just a thing that feminists demand? If you act on behalf of women you MUST have a vagina? Seems kind of bigoted to me.

Anyway that's my little piece. You asked and I attempted to help. If you happen to be a member of that 33% group just relax, take a step back and allow your male privilege to comfort you. Just remember. You will die from natural causes earlier than a women in your position would, society does not value you as much either as a human or a parent as your partner or future partner, you are statistically more likely to die by your own hand than a woman is, you're less likely to receive mental care if you do have a break, you're more likely to die in a war that a woman, you're more likely to be sent to prison for a longer time than a woman for the same crime, you're more likely to be assaulted but if you were as paranoid about it as a woman in your position was you'd be considered a wierdo, if you have children the state will assign them to your wife upon the 50% chance you divorce with a 70+% chance that it will be her initiating the divorce, you're able to go on your television and see a male rape joke this week but if you dare to mock female rape in any way you'll be lambasted from all sides. If you do end up in prison you'll be raped, guaranteed, and nobody will even care. Every interaction you have with a child will come into question by every stranger in the vicinity. You'll be considered a deadbeat dad if your sexual partner has a child you didn't want and you can't afford to pay for. But if you do want the child your partner will hold life and death of that fetus in her hands. Any sexual encounter you have with a woman can be used against you after the fact. You and a woman could both be equally drunk and engage in coitus but the next morning if she either doesn't recall the event or has second thoughts about the event she will automatically assume the worst and you'll be railroaded by the justice system. If you happen to be a man of any worth and try and do a kindness to a stranger that stranger will turn around and call you oppressive for mocking her agency.

I could go on but you get the point, right? YOU OVER PRIVILEGED, RAPE APOLOGISING, WOMAN HATING, MINORITY OPPRESSING, HATEFUL HUMAN SCUM!

Because those positions arent a simple fire and rehire, theyre kept for a very long time and its as simple as almost all of those have been old people voted in from the 80s and 90s

It's a little annoying that it is framed as white males.

It would be very easy to show others stats that put men in a disadvantaged situation compared to women. But harder with white men. (eg. men are more likely to be murder victims than women, but blacks are more likely than whites. I don't have time to look it up, but white men could well be murdered less than the population as a whole.)

I'd just respond with a post about how white females constitute 34% of the population and have the following advantages:

percentage of voters
percentage of murder victims
percentage of homeless people
percentage of consumer decisions
percentage of pension income received
percentage of suicides

This argument is meaningless because it applies to everything.

Less than .5% of the nation are professional/career politicians, yet nearly 100% of politicians are career politicians. Where are the plumbers and electricians?

Dunno about the white thing but as far as the female thing: far fewer women are willing to go through what it takes to become a CEO or politician. They either have kids or they drop out.

The reason there are almost no female high ranking politicians is the same reason there are almost no female physics nobel laureates. Being kept out of office is no excuse seeing as the majority of voters are female:
