I do wish that Mr. Goldwag was correct. Sadly, he's not. Here are some examples of misandry I've come across just this year. The authors of the quotes in this link aren't outliers. They are, in most cases, respected, mainstream feminists; decision-makers, in some cases:

Some of those are laughable, some are bizarre, all are chilling. And those are just the tip of the iceberg. The fact is, I don't have to look very far in the feminist community to find some truly kooky and disturbing hostility to due process when it comes to men and boys and sexual assault. Doubt me?

Take Jessica Valenti as but one prominent example. Feminist pundits who write about presumptively innocent men and boys accused of rape happily assume guilt in a particular case because rape happens too often. That's not just incarnate hostility to due process, it's the epitome of anti-intellectualism. You haven't noticed that, Mr. Goldwag? If you want a lot more examples of this, we could be here all day, because they do it routinely. (Interestingly, their hostility to due process is confined to men and boys accused of sexual assault. They would be the first to be on the right side of the issue for any other crime. Go figure. How on earth can you defend these people, Arthur? The fact is, you don't even try. You blithely ignore their idiocy, then claim anyone who criticizes feminism must be the outlier. Nice trick, that. My guess is that Mr. Goldwag is like some of the others in assuming I think there is an epidemic of false rape claims on campus -- I don't, because there isn't, and that's not even the point. Rape is a serious problem, on campus and everywhere else. But that is never an excuse to diminish the due process rights of the presumptively innocent. Arthur Goldwag is allied with people who think it is. Or does Mr. Goldwag insist that our colleges punctiliously honor men's due process rights when even feminist Brett Sokolow, who has done more to advance the interests of rape victims on campus than anyone, says that's simply not so? And does Mr. Goldwag even give a damn, or is he too busy putting those who dare to raise this issue on hate lists?

In Arthur's post that I've linked to, he SOUNDS like he's trying to be reasonable. Unfortunately, at least when it comes to the blatant hostility to due process and fundamental fairness on campus, he is either woefully unschooled in what is happening, or he happily turns a blind eye to it. My guess: sadly, a little of both.
