what's blackpill?

The other day I was called blackpill because some guys were calling a lady a two, she's a slim build dark complexion and had a little attitude problem. So the guys were saying she was a two and I said no she's an average looking woman if she was a two she'd probably be 5ft 2 and weighs 300 pounds by modern day beauty standards. Even though she was very rude being rude does not apply to initial attraction and because of this I kinda understood why the guys were so outraged. The sources on Google aren't clear for me so I came to the next best source

Blackpill boiled down is that attraction is primarily based on looks, and if you don't meet someones looks requirement or threshold you are screwed. Not sure what those guys were talking about.

And as for redpill?

[–]insertcredit2 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Blue pill is looks don't matter only being nice

Redpill is looks matter but so does income, status, game, etc etc and if you work on these things you'll get laid

blackpill is the only thing that matters is looks and there's no point in even trying as you'll never get anywhere unless you're great looking.

It's a lot more complex but basic basic basic oversimplified looks affluence and game ( social skills and social status included in this) are the most important things as a man when trying to attract women. Also women are hypergamous that means they want somebody they can look up to somebody that is at least equal or better than them in one of two categories, in the alpha fucks category or the beta bucks category. The alpha fucks category is usually short term ( often because they won't commit) the alphas are usually men in the top 20 percent in looks who give women the tingles and often have an edge to them. Beta bucks category is a man who is usually relegated to long term relationships women won't have sex with them for flings and the beta has to provide security ( whether it be financial security, greater parental security by being there taking care of the kids or at least she thinks he'll provide greater parental investment, and often he needs to provide emotional security as well.) Basically red pillers think that there are two main archetypes the sexy bad boy who women actually want when they're young, and the nice safe stable guy who gets her when shes less attractive, and when she fails with the bad boy and when responsibilities come around

That's a sad thing man. It must be hard for men to have a relationship when they know this exist.

I cannot get over the absurdity of 'pill' culture. The God damn name is referencing a scene written and directed by two trans women where a black man tells a white computer programmer about reality.

[–]no_bling_just_dingWhitePill (self aware MSTOW) 4 points5 points  (9 children) | Copy Link

they werent trans women at the time

[–]RedditsOlderBrah -1 points0 points  (7 children) | Copy Link

Lmao watch this scene again thinking about a trans person's perspective if you're even capable of that.

"what you know you can't explain, but you feel it"

And then he offers neo two pills, the blue one representing the colour of a common antidepressant prescribed to trans people who can't transition, and the red one was the colour of estrogen pills at the time.

Oh and the villain is the only one who uses his dead name, Mr Anderson, leading to the climax where neo demands he respect 'his' new name.

But yeah you're right nothing trans here.

That’s a lot of reaching

[–]newlypolitical 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

There’s a lot of different scenarios that scene can refer to. Red is a very active, energetic color and blue is a very laidback, relaxed color so it makes sense to choose those colors for the pills. “Mr Anderson” was Neo’s name in the Matrix and Agent Smith uses it to remind Neo of his place. It just so happens that these elements could also be applied very well to the idea of transition, but that isn’t the only way the movie can be interpreted.

Gotta be real here, it does sound like reaching. I’ve heard other interpretations of what movies are about with similar reasoning that get scoffed at as “seems like reaching”. And if the creators didn’t outright say it was about being trans all along and not just an “endorsement of a reading” as you said, I’m with the other guy in that its extremely easy to make such a claim 20 years later for, essentially, modern clout/relevance. If it turns out they really did mean it that way all along then sure, but it does come across as “idealistic backfilling” nowadays.

[–]Peacesquad 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

True haha

[–]flakybottom 6 points7 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

Why is race or gender identity even relevant. The pills represent different "realities" for people, thats what they are referencing.

[–]RedditsOlderBrah -2 points-1 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Lol I can't imagine being so defensive I have to pretend The Matrix doesn't exist.

[–]nicethingyoucanthave 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

a scene written and directed by two trans women where a black man tells a white computer programmer about reality.

Your logic here (that the identities matter) is as dumb as if someone said straight people shouldn’t like computers because Alan Turing was gay.

Turning’s identity is irrelevant to the question: are computers useful to me? If the answer is yes, then great! Make use of computers.

Same with the idea conveyed in the movie. If that idea is useful to me then I’ll use it. The identity of the people involved is irrelevant.

Well Rallo the creator of the red pill name now regrets the name because people keep narrowing it down to only that scene instead of grander thought about societal programing of values and beliefs and realizing that that is what is happening and thereby having the freedom to make more informed decisions and stuff. He really hates how other people like conservatives are now co opting the verb redpilling as meaning only "learning the truth" when he thinks it's so much more.

[–]Draken3000 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

I’m with flaky, that doesn’t matter to the whole pill thing. Its in reference to the broadest interpretation of that scene where Morpheus “wakes Neo up” to reality. That’s all red pill is referencing, it isn’t any deeper than that.

[–]Peacesquad 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s kind of true. Tryed being a short pig faced man in school and talking to the pretty girls.

[–]social_mule 4 points5 points  (18 children) | Copy Link

I do not identify as black pill but this is my rudimentary understanding of the black pill:

Looks are of primary importance when attracting women, money is second and status is third however without first meeting the looks threshold money and status won't matter.

[–]SilentFroggy 0 points1 point  (10 children) | Copy Link

I don’t know why it’s comparable. Women attracted to looks is completely different from her being attracted to money/status.

[–]Peacesquad 0 points1 point  (8 children) | Copy Link

It is comparable

[–]SilentFroggy 0 points1 point  (7 children) | Copy Link

How? She’s going to love a guy she’s really into differently than she is to a guy that is only providing.

[–]Peacesquad 0 points1 point  (6 children) | Copy Link

It’s not the SAME but it is comparable. The guy in both scenarios is providing some type of utility for the woman

[–]social_mule 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Black pill isn't my creation. I don't even identify as black pill. This is just my understanding of what black pill is. I could be off base.

Maybe a black piller can chime in with more insight.

[–]Peacesquad 0 points1 point  (6 children) | Copy Link

So what happens after you except the black pill? It sounds miserable and sexless

[–]flakybottom 2 points3 points  (3 children) | Copy Link

It can be kinda relieving. People try to tell you that you are sexless just because you are an awful person, and the blackpill refutes that. You can be one of the nicest and caring people around but if you don't have the looks you are going to struggle immensely.

[–]Peacesquad 0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy Link

But how do you get sexy sexy funfun time

[–]flakybottom 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy Link

uh, you don't, unless you pay for it

[–]social_mule 0 points1 point  (1 child) | Copy Link

I have no idea. As I mentioned in my original comment I do not identify as black pill. I was just giving my understanding of what the black pill was. I could be wrong. Maybe a black piller can chime in with more insight.

[–]Peacesquad 0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy Link

Interesting

[–]blockboii190 2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Less loser pill than the red one

[–]Best_Illustrator_137 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy Link

Isn’t it like dudes who think there’s no hope and it all is determined by looks?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
