You can debunk it, but if you want it to die, well, Good luck with that. They stuck with the super bowl domestic abuse myth for decades after it was proven to be junk. They can push any narrative they want, no matter how misleading, because the cultural gatekeepers in media, journalism and the university won’t contradict them out of sympathy to their cause or fear of their activists. The wage gap, no matter how many times it's debunked, will never be allowed to be debunked by feminists because they'll simply blame sexism for why "men are more competitive", "work longer hours", etc.

US Bureau of Labor Statistics has extensive info on this. White women barely even venture into the workforce during their entire lives. They basically work a couple years for kicks and that's it. Some years, white women have 45% rate of not even working a single hour during the year. And then when they do work, they either work part time, or if they work full time, they still work fewer hours than men.

As far as I can tell, it’s not that any rational economists, male or female, believe in the “wage gap,” but it’s the fact that there’s always another sophomoric idiot who claims to be an expert, that brings up a nonsensical garbage statistic that has its basis in feelings and not facts, and then the whole thing has to be proven again.

You know that something is a RELIGIOUS belief, and not a scientific belief, when you can’t use reason to conclusively convince people they are wrong. You tell someone, “Ford is cheaper than Chevy, just look at the numbers,” and they will stay convinced as long as they can tell that it adds up. Feminism is a RELIGION though, so no matter how many indisputable facts there are, they just go back to believing the Fembot in the Sky knows best and will save them.

I think all of your statements are true. But when we talk about there being a wage gap that exists we need to start questioning why these statements are true. Especially number 9- men work higher paying jobs. Why are male dominated industries paid more than jobs with more women? (Nurses, teachers)- it’s because society assigns less value to roles worked mostly women. Men work longer hours, retire later and take less time off because the burden of raising children has fallen on women, and women have been the ones sacrificing their careers. When you say things like “men are more competitive, more likely to take risks, more likely to ask for raises,” I’m not sure if any of that’s inherently true except maybe the last one- and this comes down to social conditioning and the way we raise boys and girls differently, and consistently enforce gender roles and stereotypes. So it is not a simple topic but something to question further about the realities of the wage gap.

I am on an employee-management liaison committee in my company. 100 percent of the questions relating to more holidays, more yoga days, more mental health initiatives, better ideas for company barbecue, work work life balance, more cup cakes in the canteen come from women.

Men ask about products, profits, legislations affecting us, the competition etc.

Men also are more likely to work in jobs that are considered low status and dirty, but which pay a premium.

Men are more likely to work in jobs that take a toll on physical health (like pilots dropping chemicals on crop fields)
