Agree to Restraining Order

Restraining orders are issued by a judge in court. It's not something usually brought up in mediation where someone is asked to agree to it. If she feels a restraining order is pertinent, she takes her evidence to court, a judge reviews it, and if appropriate signs the RO. Sounds like she doesn't have anything really to bring to court to get one and is now hoping you'll agree to one?

Never agree to anything whilst potentially at risk for plenary restraining order. It is leverage that will be used against you and it's permanently on your record, whether it's in place or not. It will come up later.

Lol, do not agree to this as a restraining order can be fucked up. I was just served with a TRO that said i could only contact stbx through her lawyer. And anything having to do with seeing my kids was left out. My job is now in jeapordy because the TRO mentions domestic abuse. And none of my lawyers team can even figure out why it was granted.

You dont sign a restraining order, you get a custody schedule or parenting plan signed that outlines the specifics allowing you to avoid each other.

A restraining order is on your permanent record. It can impact your ability to own a firearm, get a weapons carry permit, get many jobs AND could easily effect your custody.

She's playing you. She knows how easy it is to accidentally violate a restraining order. Your attorney is an idiot. I can't imagine one reason why you'd voluntarily agree to a restraining order. Have you done anything that deserves a RO?
