My STBXW and I used to binge watch TV almost every night as one of our hobbies during the week. It all started during Covid being locked down. We would finish work, have dinner and binge watch shows from like 6 pm to 11 pm. Sometimes all day on the weekends if we didn’t go out or have friends over. We would cook together, or order in, drink wine, make cocktails, make fun snacks. Eat edibles and have sex a lot in between shows. We’ve been separated for 5 months after a 4 year marriage and I haven’t been able to watch TV shows at all. I haven’t watched one show since I left the house. I sometimes do watch football on Sunday’s but that’s about it.

There’s so many new shows and new seasons that I would love to watch right now like: Ashoka, The Fall of the House of Usher, Power: Force, Gen V, Loki, The Continental, Black Mirror, Invincible, The Bear, Succession, I’m a Virgo, Bodies, The Curse, and so many more. I just can’t seem to even open the apps since that was such a fun and safe space in my previous marriage.

I got a great new job making great money, I’m working out heavy and feeling good. I’m actually happy and free to be out of a controlling and very stressful relationship, but for some reason I don’t watch TV at all. It reminds me of my former best friend and partner that all of sudden started treating me like shit. I think of all the laughs, cuddles, make out sessions, jokes, discussions. Sometimes it almost doesn’t seem real that we no longer speak. I don’t know if this will go away In time or if I need therapy. Thoughts?
