Going through a divorce as I had posted previously on this sub. I am in NJ and my lawyer wants me to complete a Case Information Statement (CIS). It is pretty complicated financial document that requires a lot of details on assets, liabilities, expenses/budget before and after marriage, etc.

I am usually pretty adept at managing finances and taxes. I can come up with the best estimates for everything that is asked for but I am wondering if any of you have any experience working with a CDFA. Is it any advantage as a man? Can a CDFA help prepare the CIS accurately as well as protect my interest? Some of the categories of expenses to be listed are pretty vague with very little guidance in terms of definitions. Also thinking in terms of the cost of hiring one vs benefit.

All inputs welcome and thanks in advance!
