Crosspost "Early days advice?" from /r/DivorcedDads:

So my wife and I have decided to get a divorce. I would really like to just go through mediation and come to a fair and equitable agreement. Split he kids 50/50, I pay her alimony, she buys me out of our house sort of agreement.

She wants to fight (not sure what for, I can’t see why she would get sole custody or anything), and as we are still living in the same house, tensions are high.

Any smart advice to manage while we are finding attorneys? For example she wants to take them on vacation for ten days and when I proposed a similar but shorter vacation, she simply says no with no reason. It’s so frustrating and I am so afraid of getting stuck in a huge fight.
