I’m planning to file for divorce this summer.

I suspect in the future, when we’re no longer together, she will tell me “happy Father’s Day” because she’s fucked in the head.

I'm approaching the signing of the final separation/divorce agreement. SAHD, 3 kids, I got the house, a relatively new vehicle, and good amount of monthly financial support...relatively satisfied as we both try our hardest to remain "cordial". But honestly just want her out of my life.

I'm curious at what communication would look like after splitting up, but admittedly I am kind of surprised that former spouses would be in contact this way. For instance, I assumed we would NOT be wishing each other any future Happy Mother's/Father's Day, no birthday wishes, etc...not sure what Christmas or the kids birthdays will look like yet...

Am I naive? Is it purposefully vindictive?

At this point I would prefer minimum communication unless it's about the children. She did buy a house that is two blocks away, so is essentially in my back yard (which sucks...tried to prevent it but was out of my control).

I was assuming we would just move on from each other, aside from the common ground of the kids...I'm curious about your experiences...

I had the same thing. She wished me a Happy Father’s Day. This is the woman that cheated on me multiple times, has been cold and distant throughout the separation, and even filed false DV allegations. Like… the audacity to wish me a Happy Father’s Day after you nuked our family.
