…after 4+ months of post D day cohabitation with my narcissist ex, I am FINALLY moving to my new apartment tomorrow.

  • I am so grateful to no longer have to share a roof with this miserable person I used to love so many years ago. Our relationship had been very unhealthy for years - and it caused me a lot of pain watching her spiral in the resentful, uncommunicative, and unfaithful person she became. I am grateful she made it so easy for me to fall out of love with her.

  • I am so grateful that we have a shared custody (50/50) situation with my 5 year old daughter - although even the reality of spending 3-4 consecutive days away from her causes me grief.

    • I am so grateful that my daughter has expressed excitement about this next chapter in our lives. She can’t wait to see daddy’s new apartment tomorrow after school. She has never seen two happy parents in her short life, and I’m so relieved that at only 5 she seems to possess the maturity to understand that this is the right thing to do. I know this may and likely will change as she gets older, but her enthusiasm so far has been such a weight off my shoulders.
    • I am so grateful to be able to be free to rediscover what it means to be in a happy healthy relationship again

The practical and financial challenges I’m now up against are immense. And I know the stream of volatile toxic bullshit from my ex isn’t magically gonna stop (although I’m hoping it diminishes given the fact that as of tomorrow we will no longer live together). And the divorce isn’t finalized - there is still so much legal BS to hash out…… But goddamn, I’m so glad this cohabitation phase is over, and I’m looking forward to the next chapter.
