I’m curious how others handle cell phones with their younger teens. My 12-year-old daughter has a phone that’s on her mom’s plan, and her mother has told her never to share the passcode with me.

Personally, I believe parents should have access to their child’s phone until around age 16—for safety and accountability. I’m planning to have this addressed in our custody agreement, but I know my ex will likely turn it into a big issue.
