I begged my husband to go to therapy with me for months before we separated, even if it were only an environment where there was some level of safety in speaking more openly about his concerns. He refused and I just don't understand why he wouldn't even give it a chance before throwing away 12 years, being best friends, having a wife who loved him unconditionally... I take responsibility for my actions and even went to therapy on my own for a year to show him I was willing to put the work in and have since contined to get care. Why do men tend to not believe that it can actually work. I'm not saying all, but at lot don't want to try it. He said to me at one point he liked the way he was and didn't want to change at all which broke my heart because I wasn't asking for anything drastic.
