My wife asked me for a divorce in much the same way that it happened to most of you. It was a complete surprise to me. We ended up reconciling and shortly after that my father died unexpectedly and I felt the need to move back home to help my mother cope for a couple of months. Ultimately,this was the final nail in the coffin for my marriage. However, I was in so much distress over my father that I could not even process the divorce as it was happening.

I don’t believe that I would have ever asked my ex wife for a divorce. I wanted to work through our problems and stick it out. However, I have met a new woman who is so much of a better fit for me that I now realize that my ex wife did me an enormous favor. I don’t have kids, just dogs that we kind of share so I do not have it so horrible. Financially, yes I took substantial lumps. However, hang in there guys. This gets better. You will make more money in the future and you will more than likely meet a woman who is a far better match for you. Time heals all wounds guys. Hang in there!
