I was accused of everything under the sun and all I did was methodically collect evidence and witnesses. She had nothing. I filed a motion for expert witnesses. We mandatorily showed our hand a week before the hearing and they agreed to settle at 50/50. We signed the agreement and it will soon be ordered by the court once it’s filed. 14k down the drain. 4 months. I have no assets. I’ve sold everything for my kid. I have some Bitcoin I am willing to part with. No real estate or anything large. Is there any point to retaining a lawyer at this point? Even her attorney agreed that it’s over… 76% of people are Pro Se for divorce cases in my county. We still have to attend a conference and a final hearing. But I feel like I will be milked for more. Drafting orders and financials and so forth. Why not just let her attorney do it? Lastly, I will likely be filing a motion to be held in contempt very often. I have forms for that and I don’t see why I need a lawyer anymore once the parenting plan is ordered.
