My soon to be ex wife asked for a divorce last year. We are working towards getting it finalized. We moved states post college for my career. I was the primary provider. I paid the down payment, all the bills, medical bills and trips. Any money she made was out towards her student loans and car payment and some decor throughout the house. She was a server, then worked for a small firm making a small amount of money before starting her business and then going back to school. We bought a house 7 years ago and it was in my name cause we weren’t married. We refi during the pandemic for a better rate and moved it into a trust and a better rate, the mortgage has remained in my name. She isn’t going after my retirement but is trying to determine what she is entitled to on the house. She is graduated law school this year and is set to be a lawyer. Curious thoughts. We are a community property state.
