So I have been divorced for almost two years now. The kids live with their mother 2 hours away. I am not happy about it at all, but I could not stop her from taking them to her affair partner.

I was very lonely in the beginning - was able keep the (much too large) house and it felt so empty. I got on the apps and found a girlfriend pretty quickly. She was the first date after the divorce, we hit it off - sort of. I guess I was lonely. She is not perfectly my type to be honest, but the sex was good and she is a sweekt woman. She is also 13 years younger than me, which I think is flattering my ego.

Anyway, she is a nice lady, really sweet most of the time. Only also very emotioanl. Anytime something is not as she expects or envisioned it, it is a huge scream-fest, tears flowing, hysterical really. She gets hysterical.

The latest ist because her mother gets remarried this weekend to her long term partner (not my gfs father). I do not particularly like her family, they are a bit hillebilly for my taste. Still it was expected of me to be at the wedding. I tried to talk about it with her a few times and tell her, that I do not feel comfortable being there - but she insisted. Anytime I pushed back a little, she got hysterical and so I gave in.

The wedding is tomorrow. I really don't want to go. I am much too introverted to sit at the fucking bride- and groom's table (I have met these people three times over the last 18 months). I will know almost nobody there, my GF will be the main brides maid (to her mother) and is organizing a lot, so I might be alone for a few stretches of time.

Why is it so hard to just be left alone, once in a relationship?

By the way - yes, she lives with me. It is economical, since she pays a bit towards the mortgage (not much, much less than she would have to pay if she would rent her own place).

I am not sure why I am writing this or what I expect. I am kind of considering cutting her lose at this point. But on the other hand she is really sweet with my kids (they are with us every two weekends). I would probably miss her and I am pretty sure that I would not find another girl so easily.

Besides being more or less financially stable and owning a house (in a nice city), I have not much going for me. Super thick glasses, pretty nerdy, slightly crooked teeth. Not exactly a looker. But a reaaal "nice guy". My ex-wife good everything she did not deserve from me.

Thanks for reading, just had to vent.
