My stbx is very verbally, emotionally and mentally abusive to me. She is also a short fuse with others she knows well. She constantly fucks with my head. When I drive, and she is passenger, I must follow all the rules of the road to the letter until it’s inconvenient for her and then I must break them. And if I break that rule on a day she doesn’t want me to then I’m an idiot for breaking that rule. She says I say things that I didn’t actually say and will get viscous if I continue denying it so until I say she’s right there is a war. She is the first to criticize but she herself is made of glass. One smell of someone correcting her and she shatters. She will deflect and demean that person, she’ll 10x what that person did. Oddly enough she’s incredibly smart. She claims to always be an honest person until the someone claims she’s lying or misrepresenting the truth to which she flips the conversation and shifts to their faults. She’s always very lazy, claiming to be suffering from many different illnesses (altho negative test results). She’s spun things so the kids need to cater to feeling bad for her all the time. Many woe-me type situations. Is there a personality type? I’m trying to ready the ship so I know how to fight this battle.
