This sounds like a train wreck in the making tbh. Please consider consulting with an attorney before agreeing to anything mentioned in your post. You wouldn't necessarily have to retain a lawyer, but at least reviewing your case with one would be a smart move here. Your stbx doesn't have to know you're talking to a lawyer. You do not want to DIY this as a man with a 6 figure income married to a SAHM.

That's just it, in divorce you don't know what to expect like you would in criminal court or when companies sue each other. Too much judicial discretion. 6 years in most states is not eligible for alimony but your judge can ignore that.

just use a divorce mediator.

You can still hire a lawyer to review documents and advise you personally for fairly cheap, or even flat fee (while its uncontested) for $2-3K. With kids especially, I would do this even if it stays perfectly amicable...you want the paperwork correct, and to have any issues pointed out.

It's a business deal, and good if you treat it as such, as the law is very complex. You'll be working within the framework you build here for a long time. Best intentions, but...make sure it's done right.

If you're reticent -- at absolute minimum at least find an attorney you'd want to use, and do an initial consult. You want to be able to engage them ASAP when needed, not starting the search.

She should be doing the same, and expect any friends/family/redditors to tell her that.

talk to a proper family lawyer with criminal law background. CPS frowns on kids living in travel trailers, you can create a lot of chaos for her if you wish, but for now keep your mouth shut.

everything is negotiable except for child support. but that can be tamped down as long as it hits certain thresholds.

You could give her the trailer in lieu of the alimony (first find out if you even need to pay her some).

Do not sign anything or agree to anything without talking to a lawyer. you might be recorded and your phone might be hacked. Removed the fingerprint/face unlock and use a passcode hidden from everyone else. (or if its too suspicious, just buy a new phone or conduct all your business with a new virtual number (like hushed/fongo/etc..) and a new secret email account. \

do not escalate if she isn't but dont let her know you are seeking outside counsel. If you feel your terms and her are very agreeable and easy for you, then sure, find an internet document and both sign and have it notarized so it stands up in court (only do this after talking to a lawyer, no joke), goodluck

The last month at “our” house my wife was oddly sweet and seemed to listen to my conversations……. BUT THEN …….. when I shut the front door for the last time and drove away, that all fucken changed!!!! Somehow I became the enemy.
