I posted this as a comment under a video "One Way Street" by Alexander Grace on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5u13_Bdw5eY

Within less than an hour it had been removed by him. I thought it was a useful counter to the arguments his video so thought I would post here as I did hear on a podcast some red pill guy saying this video should be shown in schools as part of sex education to teach boys about how women really are so they wouldn't feel so bad about their failure to get sex or relationships.

I don't agree with your conception of hypergamy, it is in fact a misnomer its an academic term which refers to the act of both men and woman marrying up and men did indeed seek to marry up for beauty or for access to a woman's families (typically her father's) wealth and power, a practice which continues still. Women in the past did not have the right to own property. get an education, vote. hold wealth or even work in many cases so women had no choice to marry up because they themselves had nothing so virtually any male would have had more status and wealth than they did personally and this was a situation which was largely true until relatively recently in out history.

In societies where women do have the right to earn money, work, own their own home, get an education and have the freedom to choose they tend to practice assortative mating and this is true for men and women we typically prefer those more like ourselves, even well into the past people tended to marry more within their own social class. In todays society women also more and more have the freedom to remain single, childfree or explore same sex relationships, women now literally don't need a man to survive and thats a positive thing.

You say that this understanding of "Hypergamy" relieves men who experience sexual and romantic rejection of the shame by making them aware of this inherent behaviour of women and in light of the facts and that their is absolutely no evidence for any genetic component to this behaviour nor has the "sexy son hypothesis" been proven in humans then this view of women's hypergamy leaving good men on the shelf is little more than feel good "bro psychology".

While it is positive to speak up about loneliness and emotional struggles and I see no problem having a public discourse about this and how a new epidemic effects men and women but highlighting mens issues isn't an issue, I encourage it. However I do think it is harmful and essentially a "cope" to lay the blame using this highly dubious conception of hypergamy at women's feet. Even if it were true (and it isn't) you can't compel women to sleep with or have relationships with men they don't want. Love and sex are not human rights and nobody owes those things to you. You have to get those things for yourself and if you can't you have to just deal with that and not look around for anyone else to blame. If men feel like failures or defective becasue they cannot find the relationships they seek then that is an issue with where they find their self worth, its co-dependent and unhealthy to place your primary source of self worth and personal value in whether you have a relationship or not and that goes for men and women.

You say men's sexuality is demonized and that women's is celebrated but that could be easily countered in that women are still shamed for behaving sexually or percived as a slut, only good for sex if they behave sexually, have multiple partners and so on (especially in the realms of the manosphere). On the other hand the media and culture is often at pains to engage the male gaze and is catered to the man getting off, in porn of often in just regular movies. Now thats not the whole picture, the truth is that the sexuality of is both men and women demonized, celebrated and exploited in society, not to mention the demonization of homosexuality. You say lonely men are financially exploited by women who sell them sex and companionship either in person or digitally, while women do earn money this way often the people making the most money from this enterprise are case in point, Andrew Tate. There are many others such as Only Fans Founder Timothy Stokely, Pornhubs CEO's have all been male, Spearmint Rhino is owned and was founded by John Grey, Adult work a large site for sex workers was founded by and owned by a man. Germany's mega brothels are owned and run by men (many of whom are now in prison for exploiting the women who worked in the brothels. In my opinion sex work is sometimes glamourised in order to lure young women into that world where they are then exploited by the men who run these businesses and yes it could also be argued that the men who then pay for these services are also being exploited, but who is really the person doing the exploiting, who is really making the money?

Anyway that is my comment of that video, I feel that the video does more harm than good and should not be used to teach boys anything. There is some merit in the idea that children are taught about social skills in school especially in an age where the screen dominates so much of a childs life throughout key developmental ages. But showing them phony theories will only make things worse.
