Short answer, maybe.

Longer answer, probably not.

'Pill' bullshit is contemptuous of science, logic, and personal responsibility by default. So all arguments that attempt these approaches will fail. You need to look past their whining and hear what they are ACTUALLY crying about. They don't hate women. They hate that as far as they can tell 99.9999% of women don't want anything to do with them and sure they haven't done anything good but they haven't killed an eaten someone either! And Ted Bundy gets fan mail!

Basically, I'd need information to provide what course I'd take but I am no expert.

Prevention is better than cure.

Governments are sleeping instead of educating young people at school how to have reciprocal, fair, respectful, empathetic relationships of all kinds including romantic.

Makes sense why they'd avoid it - governments want the population to comply with the current status quo to maintain hierarchies that they are at the top of.

Questioning the capitalistic competitive focus of school and instead pushing for community-minded existence is something we should all do to dismantle oppression and create a healthier happier society with better relationships.

The way some people are being hooked into this is alarming. It's a level of radicalization that I've seen first hand with men I knew who grew up adoring women. The people peddling in this garbage know how to exploit the vulnerabilities of these men and suck them into nonsense that gives them a false sense of power, control, and potential fulfillment.

When I've encountered loved ones gripped by this nonsense, I made a point to never debate the topics. It serves no purpose except to help them deepen themselves into the thinking. Instead, I would point out the issues with their mental health, help them see how they were susceptible to radicalization, expose the framework and larger themes of the ideology (which is harder to debate), and challenge why they stopped thinking for themselves to adopt toxic propaganda-esque BS to fill the voids in their lives.

Pill poppers are wounded, immature, children who don't want to take responsibility for their lives. If they're use to blaming the outside world for their problems, then these ways of thinking are great crutches.

“Deprogramming” from extremism created on the internet is in earlier stages. And I’d suggest skimming this from the American Psychological Association as a jumping off point for further research.

A few of my acquaintances have sorta red pill influenced ideas . One of them is mostly trolling to get reactions out of ppl and have some purpose to his life besides his family which is pretty sad but I get it. He’s probably my best friend but it does get annoying . Another one was more red pilled a few years back and kinda dialed it back . There were times I ignored them both and probably them to me Vice versa . The rest of the red pill ppl I knew I don’t talk to anymore bc they are not that important to me . I feel like I help the 2 I care about by not cutting them off and continuing to be their friend and seeing the good in them . I know that when I ignored them I wasn’t rly doing anything to help the problems I saw in the world and how ppl think so selfishly and are mean . So I feel better abt being their friend if I care about them and if I don’t care abt them then I don’t talk to them anymore than I might have to if they are a coworker or something

One of my closest friends got sucked in. I tried for a year and a half. Perhaps it’s my fault but the friendship - at least for now - is heavily damaged. It’s hard, as a woman, to listen for hours of this stuff and try to care about the person rather than the misogyny they are spewing. One exposes one’s self to a lot of toxicity. I finally got upset when it became clear that all our conversations were about his needs and he wouldn’t listen to anything I said about my life.

As is common with this mindset, the misogyny was accompanied by racism and a lot of anger, blaming everyone else, and teenager behavior (we are both middle aged). I say really consider where your own mental well being comes in and don’t sacrifice too much.

Focus on the basics like social skills and mental health. When they have red pill ideas put the burden of proof on then and ask them why their claims are true. Try to link their beliefs to their emotional issues.

I think it’s about more reasonable adjacent options. Like better they listen to a traditional conservative who finds red pill abhorrent then red pillers.
