So I’ve been reading a lot of studies regarding things like facial attractiveness and how apparently there are ways to measure it. These studies seem to suggest that there are things that people across most cultures seem to agree on in terms of attractiveness, such as facial symmetry and the like, even stating that an objective system to measure of facial attractiveness can be created.

I’ve also read, however, that things like individual preferences for attraction are shaped more by the environment of a person as opposed to being genetically hardwired into them, and that there are some studies that do seem to demonstrate differences among cultures. Hell, my research has even led to studies suggesting that some animal mating preferences aren’t caused by genetics and are largely related to their environments and upbringings. So which studies are more accurate?
