I've spent the past three years trying to spit out the red pill and when I finally thought I was out, I had a relapse and temporarily fell right back into it. Now I'm crawling out again, but I'm still racking my brain over one concept: never showing weakness.
I can't seem to get over the fact that women have all these arbitrary rules for when it's okay to show your humanity and lean on her or otherwise risk losing attraction. He can't show too much, and it has to be at the appropriate times, in the appropriate amounts, all of which she decides is okay. It's like a fucking minefield. Men don't have rules like this and women can be vulnerable and lean on their man whenever they feel like it and don't have to worry about ruining his vision of her, in fact in many cases it might even make him feel protective and turn him on.
One recurring topic is the one of "masculinity tokens", as described below:
a man amasses macho or "Attractive" tokens during the initial courtship by engaging in masculine behaviors and attitudes, all of the things TRP advises and just normal masculine things. this macho cred, or tokens, can then later be spent on moments of vulnerability that are actually very bonding and attractive (he DOES have a sensitive side!!) in the romantic sense, they are like little drops of glue in the relationship for the woman. but the key issue is men have to build UP this macho token account before they can start spending it. a lot of men who go to TRP or who are unsuccessful with women have a "macho tokens" deficit when they go into relating to women, so any vulnerability or lack of manliness is immediately counted against them. TRP helps them fill their account with tokens FIRST so that the inevitable displays of less masculine behavior will be forgiven
Someone asked to clarify:
So men have to earn their spouse's emotional support, while women are entitled to it. This sounds about right.
Her reply:
women arent "entitled" to shit. dont give them your emotional support. who the fuck cares? no one
will they GET emotional support without losing being attractive to their male mates? yup
thats how the cookie crumbles
Basically, showing vulnerability for men is inherently unattractive, but if he has built up enough attraction and "earned" his privilege to be vulnerable, he can show weakness occasionally.
I think this is disgusting, that men have to earn their emotional support while women don't, that men getting emotional support from their GF makes her lose attraction to him, while she just gets it and doesn't have to worry.
What kind of piece of shit loses attraction to someone they supposedly love because they showed their humanity? How can you say you actually love someone you lose attraction because they opened up too much, too often, or otherwise didn't earn the privilege of being temporarily vulnerable? Why would a man want to EVER be in a relationship with a woman if they're like this?
This used to not bother me so much. I used to just think "oh, well, I'm a leftist progressive and I'll just hang around leftist progressive circles and those women won't care as much" and be fine with it. But then in one of the discussions regarding this, someone mirrored my thoughts, and a woman replied:
Am liberal leftist ''hippie'' type. This is still a thing.
Her opinion on the "masculinity tokens" concept as a whole:
This is so spot on.
I lost all faith in women after this.
I know this is just one person's opinion (although several purple pill women have concurred), I can't get over that fact that even a self-proclaimed leftist still views men's weakness as unattractive and that he has to perform and "earn" his right to express them.
I don't know what else to do, I'm at my wit's end here. I'm a very emotional person (and not always in the "fun" way) and not traditionally masculine so I need someone who can handle that and not lose attraction. I'm sorry I wrote so much and thank you if you've read this far. I'm already in the process of getting a therapist, I just need someone to help me reconcile this and tell me I'm overreacting and that it'll be okay, but I don't know if it is...
