Marriage can’t change a man’s nature. A lot of men harbor resentment towards women for being ignored by women when they were single. They carry the same resentment and paranoia into marriage and continue to seek validation from these videos. In worst case scenario they are still look to get attention from women.

You should keep your eyes open and be vigilant in your marriage.

Anyhow, I watched them because of morbid curiosity. I still occasionally go there when I need my daily dose of cringe.

Sat through too long of an interview with this guy and he literally just said "If you were really oppressed by men you wouldn't have feminism", and also unironically repeats the Wilde quote "Everything is about sex except sex. Sex is about power".

Has this guy ever taken care of kids before? That's about sex for him?

Anyway...where does this come from? I dunno. Everyone wants a cohesive worldview that explains their own life experiences. The problem is that you usually lose a lot of nuance and in that nuance is the ability to treat people like individuals rather than statistics. Too many people are losing the dance of life thinking it's a war.

I have never heard of this specific YouTube channel, so it’s possible I don’t understand how really awful it is.

Talking about rp content in general, I think men, who didn’t have success with women in their youth, tend to read and watch it. It’s like you didn’t have a bicycle in your childhood, so now you read how many bicycles children have and how happy they are about bicycles. I think they are missing experiences they never had, so they try to understand something about them.

I've been with a man like this and he was so misogynistic and gaslight-y he made me start to hate myself for being female. I didn't actually realise just HOW abused I was until I escaped.

I can't speak for your husband or those content creators (I don't know any of them). But I've also seen a trend of red pill stuff taking more root as a counter-culture argument to all the pro-diversity stuff.

Sometimes men just want to feel like they can belong to any group. And red pill is a group that openly accepts men no barriers.

I used to watch a lot of them because it seemed like the only place to get some truth, and understanding of the current dating climate. also to be in a place where men have a voice. What I noticed was videos being pushed really hard online and I’ve come to the conclusion that although there’s a lot of truth in them it’s not healthy. Seems to me there is an obvious attempt to turn men and women against each other. It’s not good for society

This will likely get downvoted to oblivion but at least hear me out. I'm not a fan of these types of channels but I have visited them and I can see the appeal. Right now, our culture shames masculinity. Many younger men act more feminine than they have in earlier generations. There is also a real issue with an epidemic of lowered testosterone, likely from plastics being in everything we touch and getting microdoses in our bodies.

Anyway... in a world where you most of the entertainment media and commercials gaslight men into believing that more traditional masculinity is backwards and regressive when guys come across someone like Rich Cooper who acts masculine in an unapologetic way, its seen as different and appealing to them.

I've listened to enough of the actual content (and it didn't take much) to realize it's toxic but here is the problem... when men don't have many voices speaking for them that opens the door for bad actors to step in and become appealing.

It's like when the mainstream media lies, people no longer trust them and then they go and find conspiracy theories on the internet that lie even worse.

It's like when the medical community lies about covid stats or tries to silence any question that goes against the narrative that leads people to believe anti-vax conspiracy theories.

If our culture were a little less cancel-friendly and more tolerant than these fringe voices would not be as loud or have as much influence. That goes for men and the so called manosphere as well. Much of it is toxic but there is a real need to acknowledge men's rights and the fact that our society looks down on masculinity as mostly negative.

An excellent question and something I’ve been looking into tbh. Most of the comments here are pretty much what I am seeing too.

Being married doesn’t automatically mean happy and secure in yourself. Many of these men have insecurities and feel like imposters. There is also a lot of resentment about their role in the relationship as being the man can be incredibly difficult and feels like it something that takes constant maintenance.

It is the same being a woman too, sometimes I get a bit bitter about having to maintain myself within my role as a woman (keep everything clean, organise and deal with bills and appointments despite also working full time).

From what I see in the redpill the worries could be that they are paranoid that they are a beta buxxer, they can tell their wife has less desire over time, they worry about themselves or their wives cheating and what that would mean for them (divorce law and social humiliation as well as blow to self esteem).

The redpill has a lot of ways to control women. I know people will get mad with this comments but listen.

They humiliate women who aren’t feminine and pure, they humiliate older women and show science to prove that women hit the wall. They control women through fear because they actually believe women have more value than them so they show evidence against that to keep women in line. They use frame to control situations. Many men (and women too) want control and power in the relationship to avoid feeling anxious but sometimes that is what makes us anxious in the end.

The redpill tries to say if you do abc with your woman you will get xyz outcome.

There is a lot more to it but this is the bare bones. Interested question though!
