Sometimes people I barely know or indeed complete strangers message me on insta to chat and I feel bad if I don't want to respond because they are nice in the messages, but I barely know these people and they're not entitled to my time, company or mental or emotional energy. This took me so long to understand. I've met so many people that pushed my boundaries and made me feel bad for not opening up and taking advantage of my kindness and empathy.

Now I know that I have the ability to deny people the opportunity of knowing me and I can reserve it for the right people. It sounds so stupid but I truly never realized how much I needlessly suffered because I couldn't grasp this concept.

I wish people would stay in those areas where they belong. Physically and emotionally. I struggle with keeping people at an arms length. I don’t wanna be straight up aggressive
