When I think about hanging out with my best friend or girlfriends, I know that we'd want it to be an amazing time.

We'd all spend time dressing up and putting on make up. We'd be excited to see each other and settle in a great restaurant for brunch or dinner and share stories for hours while eating great food. In fact, we'd want no one to leave early so that we could all enjoy each other's company as much as possible. Just us complimenting each other all day and listening to what's happening to each other's lives. Maybe we'd even extend the day and transfer to another fancy dessert place.

Would I ever take my best friend or girlfriends to a 30-minute coffee shop hangout? Hell no. These people bring joy and value to my life. Being around them makes me feel good. We hype each other up and only treat each other the best. 30 minutes isn't enough time to appreciate each other.

If I expect this much from my girlfriends, why wouldn't I expect this from a man who's expressing interest to be a lifetime partner?

If he's not as excited or eager to go on a date with me, then hard pass. If he hasn't made the effort to plan out a full day with my enjoyment in mind, then hard pass. If he doesn't put in an effort to dress up as much as my girlfriends do, then hard pass. If he expresses anything less than enthusiasm than my girlfriends do, then fuck off you go.

They really think I'm gonna spend 2 hours dressing up for a mediocre coffee date? What is this, a job interview where you ask me questions and decide later if you'll pursue me or not? I'm not a free trial, 30- minute period sampler.

If your girlfriends are better at organizing hangouts than the guy you're seeing is at planning dates, then he's most likely a dud.

Does anyone else feel this way?
