One of my fears is ending up with a man for whom I’m convenient, not adored. I guess that’s what I would have been. I’ve already written some lists about the negative things (pre-break up as I was having doubts, and post-break up) - I’ll make that a daily habit to form those connections in my brain. I will check that book out too. Thank you for your kind words!

What the fuck? If this is real the family must know that it's intentional, not incontinence, because if he's "too ashamed" to wear adult diapers how is he not ashamed of announcing that he peed himself.

They said that what we saw on TV was a watered down version of it, so I also wonder how much more he said.

And you don't need a pin# to use a credit or debit card, especially for such a small amount. It seems like he was testing the waters & maybe going to misuse her card after he had the pin# for it. Yeah I don't even remember my credit card pin - I've never had to use it at a store. Beyond the violation, he had nefarious intentions.

I don't like period sex because it's messy and I don't like feeling messy. I'm also very attached to my own bathroom when I'm on my period lol. I hate having my period when I'm on a trip, because I just want the comfort of my own house/bathroom. I won't stay over a boyfriend's house when I'm on my period for the same reason. Having to use the bathroom at work is annoying enough. That said I don't get all the concern about the man. He will just have to deal with whatever I choose.

But also sanitary reasons - I don't want to put anything "inside" when I have an open wound (or multiple ones), it's not safe. Wait, what does this have to do with menstruation?

I don't actually know anyone like this. I know couples that have been together since high school or college that wait until one or both of them are done with higher ed - I never got the sense that anyone was a reluctant husband.

Agreed. It's just extra disappointing to see women here spouting misogyny. However, now that I think about it, nails are something that men rarely care about or notice, so it's kind of a women's version of misogyny. I've only ever heard critical comments about nails come from women (as opposed to comments about weight, facial beauty, etc. coming from men).
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/02/22 03:44 PM

While this scrote's idea of toxic femininity is bullshit...I've definitely seen actual toxic femininity here on FDS (from users, not supported by mods). I've seen several women on FDS putting other women down for not participating in feminine beauty expectations such as... not having their nails done. It's insane.

In my experience men aren't too concerned about doxxing so I'd be a little suspicious of vagueness. Usually at most he'll be as vague as "physician" or "medical resident" instead of say, "radiologist" or "radiology resident". But there's no way to tell for sure from his profile. If you're interested in him, get him on the phone and listen to him talk about work. It shouldn't be hard to tell if he's lying if you know basics about the profession.

I think the best way is through your social network. If you have HV couple friends, how about their male friends? I have a couple of friends who are engaged or married to HV men, and their mutual male friends seem great (although different religions so not viable options for me).
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/02/22 05:19 PM

I would definitely not assume "health care professional" means doctor. Ime male physicians like to showcase exactly what they do (ex: anesthesiologist) because it gets them more women. I know women with specialized job titles who use that term so that men can't find them easily online (ex: Alison is an Occupational Therapist in X city and with one quick Google you can find her NPI number and place of work).

Don't straight up ask to check his phone. Don't let him know you're onto him. If he's secretive about his phone, something's up and that's all you really need to know. He should already be readily sharing his passcode with you when you ask - find any excuse like adding a song to the queue when he's playing music, or whatever. Yes, rape - often in the most sadistic and violent manners - is a characteristic of most conflicts. In many cases military and political leaders give soldiers orders and/or explicit permission to rape women during genocide (ex: Rwanda, Bosnia, Pakistan vs. former East Pakistan). Only when it is explicitly forbidden by leadership and strictly punished, is rape/sexual violence uncommon during conflict (ex: Tamil Tigers). When there are no rules, no laws, men will rape and gang-rape in the most gru…

If you're knowingly friends with a cheater, you're basically condoning cheating. I would cut her off and surround yourself with better people. Like you said, one day her lack of loyalty is going to be turned on you. And honestly, people judge you by the company you keep. Antiwork is against worker exploitation, yes, but it's also against the idea/reality that everyone must work to survive. It promotes the idea that work should not be necessary to acquire basic human rights/necessities. That said, I agree with you and that post is a contradiction. Worker exploitation = bad but sex worker exploitation = not bad?

To be honest I wouldn’t be friends with someone like this. I tend to get along with people who are continuously striving for growth, and that starts with self awareness and critical thinking about where one can improve. He could be measuring his words because 1) He sees you as marriage material and cares about your approval or 2) He wants to sleep with you and doesn't want you to get scared off. I do feel safe and comfortable with him. He was very careful with physical affection at first, I think he didn't want to scare me off if it was too soon. I have put up a few boundaries verbally and nonverbally and he has respected them. He definitely seems more like the first type you described. He's not shy, but not very expressive. We are going backwards. Whatever happened to encouraging our girls to expand their minds and make a contribution to the world. The cost of education (in the US at least, and it seems Australia too) is prohibitive and saddles us with crazy amounts of debt. Lack of support for mental health issues is another problem. I don’t think that question necessarily puts you in the hoe category considering how normalized porn is, and if a man thinks you’re a whore for asking that then drop him I think in my culture most men would. But it depends on cultural norms of course. However I believe all men, consciously or unconsciously, subscribe to the Madonna/wh*re complex. What it takes for a woman to land in the wh*re category will differ.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/12/21 06:59 AM
65

My issue with that question is that a man that doesn't watch porn will be put off by that question....it will also make you come across as very sexually forward and he'll just put you in the wh*re category. I'd rather play it wholesome and snoop.

I don't think I've ever dated a man who did this, or maybe they were all sneaky and I was just oblivious? I honestly don't know. It feels like too much work to me to constantly track where his eyes go when we're not looking at each other. If it's obvious and I notice it, that's obviously a problem, but I don't need another thing I have to be on high alert for. I figure the scrotery will show in other ways.

1 to 3 years? I would prefer to get back to work as soon as I'm able and take maternal days off as late as possible into pregnancy. I don't think you understand the immense toll pregnancy takes on your body, mentally and physically. And that is in a healthy pregnancy and post-partum with no complications. Almost every woman I know whose husband can afford to support the family, has taken 1-2 years off to take care of herself and her infant before returning to work.

I agree with a lot of the comments critiquing her approach and I won't reiterate what everyone else said. But as far as the "no hookups" thing...the problem with saying that is that men will assume that so many other men have approached you for hookups, to the point that you need to put a disclaimer in your profile. Men will not value what other men don't seem to value. However you were treated in the past, they'll assume that's what you deserve. You have to act like you've always been treated i…

I really like PD Paola! I don't know if they do vermeil but I have 18k gold-plated pieces from them that seem to be great quality, have had them for 2 years and no discoloration or anything. I have a few 18k gold plated pieces (no gems, just metal) from PD Paola that I love. They look more expensive than they are and still look new despite being 2 years old as gold-plated. They also do solid gold and fine jewelry but can't comment on them.

You also don't have to break the bank if you're on a budget. You can find decent quality fabrics and classic cuts without designer price tags. It's harder to find jewelry that looks like fine jewelry and stands the test of time but is not real - it's often a hit or miss but I've found one brand that I'm happy with. This was when the news broke that she was missing so that could have been because the Laundries weren't speaking and Brian was acting like a coward and a guilty man, but I don't know. It could have been due to long-standing feelings as well. Her dad also moved to be closer to her after she moved to live with Brian's family, which to me suggests he was worried about her.

I mean...a lot of families, at least in my culture, teach their daughters they have to stick it out and make it work no matter how her husband is treating her because divorce is the worst thing that could happen. Parents of women in abusive marriages need to hear this message. If this is in reference to Gabby Petito, that's a much different situation since it's clear her dad at least was not supportive of the relationship. Let's be real, men will never stop abusing and murdering us. We have to p…

Ugh. No regard for ruining her life. Arranged marriage/semi-arranged with a short timeline do not work for women. Because men and their families can get away with hiding so much if you’re getting engaged within 6 months and live 3 states away (long distance is common due to matchmakers covering huge areas for small religious communities).

They really, really hate us. Imagine getting this much hate for - gasp - being a stay at home mom. She's cooking, cleaning, and raising a tiny, demanding baby - what a useless waste of space, right? She's leaning into it too. Her bio says "full time gold digger" lol I bet that's what triggered these scrotes, who apparently have nothing better to do than verbally abuse a stranger on tiktok...like useless wastes of space.

Yep she has a newborn baby...apparently she's supposed to run herself ragged working full time with a newborn even though her husband can clearly provide for the family on his own. Men (and jealous pickmes) will find one reason or another to hate us. If she was working, they'd call her a terrible mother for not being there for her baby in early infancy.

I'm sorry but sooo many red flags. A man 10 years your senior (that's all I needed to know) spends $700 on you in one night to make you feel indebted to him, then tries to get you drunk. It’s basically some first date getting to know you questions and I let the conversation flow however it does. Usually starts with “how was your day” so you can talk a bit about your work. Even my friends' brothers and guy friends will cover our drinks/dinner when we go out as a group (with no nefarious expectations)

Oh absolutely. Also in my culture, when family, friends, or colleagues go out to dinner, Indian uncles will fight over the check, sneak off to pay it before it arrives, etc. We all watched our dads do this growing up. If a man can't extend that generosity to me, he learned nothing from his parents and/or he and his family are stingy af.

I used to admire my ex for the most part, but whenever he would get drunk he would turn into an absolute dumbass that I had to babysit. It was incredibly unattractive. I haven't yet met a man I've been interested in who didn't act like a dumbass at some point, causing me to lose respect for him, either slowly or all at once.

I remember when I was 16 and doing an internship, I had to walk home alone one day because my mom wasn't available to drive me. I walked 20 mins in my suburban town in one of the wealthiest areas in the country. I was honked at too many times to count. Thank god no one stopped and tried more than that. This "beautiful woman and medical doctor" is a dumbass. I bet she's one of those female doctors who invalidates her female patients. It's always extra disappointing coming from a woman.

I recently had to cut off a friend I met from BumbleBFF. She seemed nice and normal at first but looking back there were red flags, not on her profile but on the first meeting (e.g. complaining about her relationship which I could tell was doomed, acting like her one single interest was ~so~ unique compared to my interests). She proclaims on social media that she's a "girls' girl" yet she's the only woman who has ever rudely questioned my natural caution with strange men, to the point that I bro…

I too hated my body as a teenager. I was sick of being sexualized, or imagining or assuming I was being sexualized, for looking like a post-pubescent girl. I've never lived with a man but this is too much for me. If I have to tell him to do something he's already failing. If he sees there's something that needs to be done, he should do it. He should take initiative. Plenty of men can cook, I've only found men that love to cook (whether they will continue cooking after you marry and move in together, who knows...), and those who don't know can learn so that is no excuse.

I personally believe they willfully misunderstand and misrepresent our message to try to delegitimize our group. Because, according to them, if we're a bunch of ugly women, we're not worth listening to. In reality there are women here of varying levels of conventional attractiveness, but none of that matters. No woman deserves to be used or abused because she's not pretty enough or too sexy or whatever other bs they come up with.

Self control, to put it simply. You are in control of your body no matter how strong your urges are. If you find you cannot remain in control of yourself when you drink, then stop drinking or drink less. If you think you can manage limiting yourself to 1-2 drinks, then do that. If you can't limit yourself once you start drinking, then cut out alcohol entirely.

With a man who's even somewhat decent, you won't feel obligated to have sex under any circumstance. I went on dates with my ex-boyfriends who were not even HVM, they paid, and I never felt pressured to sleep with them. I felt comfortable to take things at my own pace. I went on first/second dates with other men, they paid, and I DID feel the pressure, which was my cue to never see them again because that pressure was not coming from within myself.

Great post. Young women need to know that our sexuality is precious and it belongs to US. WE get to decide who we share it with or whether we choose to keep it all to ourselves; choose wisely. "Too often does a woman's exploratory past come back to haunt her, and her partner becomes resentful because he never got to try the degrading things that other men "got to" do to her." On the other hand, if you haven't had much of an exploratory past, watch out for those who will try to convince you that …

I remember waiting in the car once when I was a teen and my mom was grocery shopping. A man came up to my window, knocked on the glass, and smiled at me. I learned to lock my car doors in one swift motion as I'm closing the door - so first lock, then close, in less than half a second. I also recently ended things with someone because he followed instagram models. Disappointing, but oh well, at least I found out what type of man he is sooner rather than later. I don't get it either. The thought of strange men doing who knows what with my pictures terrifies me.

Also, women in their 20s are the most fertile/have the most successful pregnancies. Teen pregnancies are much higher risk with greater complications and higher mortality rate. Biology my ass.

Yep. I'm significantly more attractive now but get catcalled much less than when I was an ugly 15-year-old.

Thank GOD I'm out of that relationship. I should've dumped him by the fourth date.

Girl, don't even waste a second of your time arguing with him. Just block.

Never never tell a man what you have done sexually, especially if it's something you don't want to do. It's none of their business.

You can't consent to being abused, physically or sexually. Full stop.

Try getting some nice pants other than jeans! Like comfy slacks, cigarette pants, paperbag pants. They really help elevate an outfit.

I don't know, I'm in my mid twenties and I've never experienced this, thank god my ex-boyfriends were normal. Then I wonder how many of the guys I dated briefly and nexted would have tried to assault me had I gone further with them.

I’m glad you did, and I didn’t intend to question your judgment at all! I just know way too many women, feminist women, who keep hanging around their misogynistic guy friends. It is depressing.

“It’s different because girls and women aren’t humans” I hope you cut this psychopath out of your life.

I’m not at all surprised either. The body keeps score, whether it experiences race-based trauma, sex-based trauma, trauma from abuse, etc. Living under patriarchy is like living under white supremacy. Very interesting study though, I want to read more about it.

If you’re asking out 100 people and only 1 says yes, I’m pretty sure that indicates there’s a problem with yourself that you need to work on. Yeah, I know average-looking men who are well-adjusted, have pleasant personalities and take good care of themselves (grooming, dressing well) and I kid you not, women throw themselves at them.

I'm so sorry he put you through that, but I'm glad you're free. It reminds me of men who go to therapy so they can use psychological techniques/language to gaslight their partners. I highly recommend you start a new Reddit account for your privacy, since he's seen your account.

How many girls they've hooked up with that they would be embarrassed to admit to their friends? (which is really shitty to those girls, but yeah plenty of guys will "lower their standards" for a ONS because they're desperate af) They should be judged.

Usually a quick google search of their name especially if you have their full name, along with his city and/or alma mater does it!

I would not be mean or engage in anyway. Keep him unblocked so you can feel out if he's going to escalate, but don't respond to his messages at all. Engaging with him in any capacity will likely only encourage him because he's learned messaging you will get him a response - I learned this from the book the Gift of Fear. If you don't respond, hopefully he will eventually get bored of no validation/responses and leave you alone.

I once took a nude photo of myself for myself, the first and only time, and was immediately terrified of getting hacked. I immediately deleted it. I later had my phone stolen and thank GOD the most embarrassing thing on there was ugly selfies.

I'm sure they are there, but that it takes time to find one. I've been thinking a lot about this lately - if I want to limit myself to Desi men. I could potentially see myself with someone (more broadly) brown and from a somewhat similar background in terms of family/culture/values. But then I see these beautiful Desi couples on instagram and I want that so badly.

Yes thank you for writing about the flip side with white men! I don't even fw them at all because it's not worth the headache. It does feel very Madonna-whore. Ultimately if a man is misbehaving with other women, it's not because of the other women and it's not because you're lacking, it's because he's trash.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/02/21 03:26 AM

Ew. So he reduced her to an "easy white girl" and tried to manipulate you at the same time. After some hard lessons, I've decided the first time a man compares me to another woman *in any way* is the last time I will speak to him.

Girl, tell me about it. It's hard out here. Plus if you do dating apps, you can't vet a guy's past easily. It's easier if you meet him through your social network so your friends can tell you allllll about him. Yeah, if they already have an extensive dating history but they've never dated a brown girl, that's a red flag.

I have noticed this. As a South Asian woman, whenever Middle Eastern men show interest in me it feels sus as hell. I've never seen one of them with a woman darker than them. I don't trust it.

I have met Desi men who are very into brown women specifically. I've also met men who don't seem to particularly have a racial preference when it comes to attraction but only date/marry brown women because of family expectations or they want to pass on the culture. I personally think I am fine with that (*as long as they do not lead other women on). They are out there, you just have to vet vet vet.

Bad news bears. Some guys may not have a preference. Others may have a sexual thing for (insert race) women but would never date and/or marry them because he's racist.

You know what would be awesome? If there was some kind of vetting service that could find everything a man has ever posted online, under any account, on any platform and show you the results. So you can see who he truly is. We already have no privacy on the internet, let's use it for good.

Yeah this sounds fake, otherwise he's a complete idiot for agreeing to any of this. He could've gotten a much better deal especially considering she cheated on him, if he had just hired his own attorney.

He's not a boyfriend, he's a roommate that doesn't even pull his weight. Can you imagine putting up with a roommate who refuses to pay for the utilities he uses? She needs to throw the whole man out and find her own affordable place.

No no no, that's not how they're going to get their free pump and dump from the cool, fun girl if she starts expecting ridiculous stuff like respect and reciprocation. /S That's so true for men. But when it comes to women who dole out the "s**t shaming" label to anyone who questions (toxic) sex positivity...I would like to think they just don't know better. Rather than believe they are so male-identified that they value men's so-called right to easy sex over other women's safety, emotional well …

Also, rates of oropharyngeal cancer are rising due to HPV transmitted through oral sex. There is still no method to test for early signs of HPV in the throat. And there's not enough evidence that the Gardasil vaccine protects again oropharyngeal cancer.

Right? Somehow it's always about "shaming", when they fail to realize that it's actually about educating and protecting girls and women...
