Anyone else ever have trouble with an extremely persistent guy?

It’s because in this type of chasing is romanticized in movies about love. Men are taught that when women say “no” they really mean “not now” and that if they’re tenacious in their pursuit that the woman will eventually accept their date proposal.

It also doesn’t help that sometimes women will reluctantly agree to go on a date with a man if he continually asks because there’s so much pressure to “just give him a chance.” 🙄(It also reinforces to them that if they keep harassing us then we’ll eventually say yes.)

I have and honestly the best way to solve that is just to ignore or even better, block them. Had some success with telling them to just go away I'm not interested but there's some who still persist after that. Best thing to do is just not even respond to them, they like the "chase" or "persuading" a woman to fall for them. Don't join in their game.

I hate pushy guys. It’s not romantic. It’s rude and disrespectful. It’s like they take advantage of your kindness because they know you’ll eventually say yes out of guilt, because they know you’re too polite to say fuck off in their face.

I view persistent as a threat and idgaf if that's a reach. If I've told you bluntly no, not interested will never be interested and you still persistent? After three times of patience I'm going to be a bitch. I do not care. I will say genuinely mean shit. Workplace will result in an HR call/ talk with the boss/complaint will be filed, will block your number and I have no problem changing it. If friend or neighbor, police can and will be called. I do not like persistence in men who I do not have any interest in.

If they show you they don’t respect ‘no’, believe them.

Continuing to pursue you after no is NOT persistence, it’s not romantic, it’s proof of their narcissism.

My ex! I dumped him and he persisted to try to “win me back” for an entire year by stalking and harassing me. Even after blocking him he would incessantly call me and make new numbers to do so. He would come up to me in public despite me ignoring his attempts of contact. He even stole my spare key from my apartment one night he came over to get his things that were still here, I have the video of him breaking in. It wasn’t fun. After finding this sub and repeatedly telling him he has no chance, that I’m not interested, and having to belittle and insult him, warn him I would take action with the videos and evidence, he’s finally stopped... (for now)

I want to add that he still tells people in our college town that I’m his girlfriend. My university knows about it. One more time and I will probably get a restraining order. Talk about persistent!

Of course. I just don’t respond to their messages, and if they’re especially annoying then I just block. I’m not going to waste my time/mental energy on clingy guys who don’t respect my choice to say ‘no’.

I’m currently dealing with a very pushy guy. I can’t block him because we have mutual friends. I have told him multiple times I am not dating at the moment due to my health. Not only does he continue to pursue me, he doesn’t ask me out... he tells me he’s taking me out to dinner.

I ignore all messages that aren’t platonic and respond briefly but politely to friendly questions. He’s finally stopped texting me.

It seems the only thing that works is ignoring men when they are pushy. Saying no doesn’t work. Being rude doesn’t work. Can you imagine the delusion

There was one guy who I explicitly told that I had no interest or attraction at all and he still persisted saying that I was "young and he can teach me". I was 20 he was 28. I continued to tell him the same and that his attempts were actually making me even more turned off. It didn't help that I worked with him and we had the same lunch break (I think he saw what time I wrote for mine and changed his to match). Then he called all the women in his life bit**es for "leading him on" and I had a feeling he did the same to them but it was still their fault for allowing him to think he had a chance. I eventually stopped and blocked him when he quit before he could get fired.

This is how I ended up in my last relationship, because he was persistent for YEARS and I was single for a little bit so I thought “why not let me give him a chance.” Ladies trust me when I say there is a GOOD reason why you’re not attracted to them, most of the time it’s your body picking up on things you can’t see.
