Imo, ugly men can be HVM just like handsome men can be LVM. My bf isn't conventionally attractive but every other trait he has is why I consider him a HVM.

But you shouldn't push yourself to date somebody you're not attracted to. You can't make yourself attracted to somebody if you're really just not into the guy. Don't lead him on though; make sure you both know where you stand right away. It's just cruel if you know there's no future with somebody.

I dated a guy less attractive than me and he would constantly put me down and gaslight me. Looking back, he definitely wanted to destroy my self esteem and he was insecure and jealous.

I haven’t dated ugly men and don’t intend to. Don’t assume they have a “nice personality” just because they are ugly. Usually the opposite especially if he has insecurity issues. He will drag you down to his level, and destroy you on that level with his experience.

I know this goes against FDS advice, but the less attractive men I’ve dated treated me very well. There have only been a handful, so that’s hardly a recommendation for other women to do the same. I must’ve snagged the ones who knew what they had and acted accordingly. No trying to tear down my ego, no insults. The worst part was trying to dump them and move on.

My friends have dated ugly men because they didn’t want to get cheated on (their words), and most of those guys were awful. I wouldn’t recommend anyone date a guy they weren’t attracted to just to end up miserable in the future. I find many men blah, so it’s easier for me. I think women are 1,000 times more attractive than men.

There’s someone for everyone. So my friends definition of ugly or unattractive could be attractive to me.

With that being said the men I’ve dated, I’ve not had a overwhelming urge of omg they’re HOT. I definitely “settled” with the majority because I’m more attracted to personality (funny that. Because I’ve been treated like crap by so far 99% of them) So no. In my personal experience “ugly” men do NOT treat women better.

I’ve found them to be even bigger narcs and the ego is HUGE.
