I’m currently (and happily) single. I’m in my last year of college 3.8 GPA, honors, working, involved in extracurriculars, workout, lead a bible study, and just got into grad school! Something FDS taught me recently was to stop responding to guys I’m not attracted to. I talk with my platonic male friends barely (it’s basically quick small talk but nothing more than 1x a month), but some guys who I have no history with or prior friendship with have been hitting me up to respond to my instastory.

Example: I post about some bread I’m baking

Guy/Acquaintance: Could you make me some?

Example: I post about a game I play

Same Guy: tfti/I play that game too/etc

And I just don’t respond anymore. Done are the days where I feel awkward about how to respond. Done are the days I worry about their feelings if I leave it on read or don’t respond. I don’t need to respond. I don’t want to respond. That’s enough for me.

I don’t need to get into a whole conversation.

I don’t need to feign interest in them.

I don’t need their attention or company.

Stop responding and they’ll get the hint. 👋🏻
