So, this is my current situation. I started going out with this guy I used to be really good friends with. He and I have always been attracted to each other but when we met we were both dating other people so nothing happened. We lost contact because he felt he needed to stop talking to me because he was in a relationship and he was too attracted to me and he didn't want to hurt his girlfriend. Fast forward two years, we meet up, we're both single and we start dating. It's been about a month of dating and so far so good. He's shown no red flags, he's been HV so far.

THAT BEING SAID...I realize we're not exclusive yet. I have a date for tonight with someone I planned with a few weeks ago and I'm feeling really guilty about this. I feel like I owe my friend some exclusivity precisely because we were such good friends before and we trust each other so much.

It's confusing because it's not like I'm dating someone I don't know. I know him. I respect him and care about him and don't want to betray his trust. He hasn't implied he's exclusive but I am really sure he isn't seeing anyone else. I know the general consensus is that men can and will go out with other people but...I know him. I know he isn't. Which makes me feel really guilty...

Despite exclusivity not being established yet, when we go out, he is affectionate and shows that he's with me. He's posted selfies with me on his snapchat and ig stories...I mean, it's not like he's making me a secret.

Should I cancel the date? I just feel like if I start being exclusive I'm setting myself up for falling too quickly for him.
