I decided to start this post with one of my ex’s favorite condescending ways of starting a devaluation session. But I’m not patronizing you. It was just to get you to click on my post. Thank you for your time.

Being single and not dating or texting with men that are not strictly platonic (family, business associates) is amazing.

I never envisioned living my life this way, but after over twenty years of dealing with male bullshit (I’m 32), here I am.

Dating has only caused me pain and stress. The abuse I’ve subjected myself to by entertaining LVM almost pushed me past my breaking point, many times. On January 2nd, I sent a breakup text to my latest abuser (this is not hyperbole) and decided to clear my head and take a year off from it all.

Here are some things I’ve accomplished or treated myself to this year:

  • Got my real estate license
  • Bought myself a new laptop
  • Purchased a set of IPL photofacial sessions to completely erase sun damage (uhmazing)
  • Purchased all new bedding and down pillows
  • Revamped my wardrobe
  • Achieved new skating skills
  • Paid off my debt
  • Built up a savings that grows every month
  • Got my credit into the 800s
  • Quit vaping
  • Quit drinking
  • Beat my eating disorder
  • Started reading books again
  • Helped my mom out financially, so she could afford car repairs and new clothing

You get the idea.

What do you wish to achieve in a year’s time? What can you change? How is dating affecting your life currently? You can do it if you free up your time, energy and money by transferring it from dating to achieving your own greatness.
