Always have your cards on you sis. What’re you going to do fight a man over the bill If he asks to go Dutch and you only have $10? Leave yourself in a vulnerable position for what?

It’s about principle, not money. If he asks to go Dutch smile sweetly, place your card down and block him on your way out of the restaurant. Spend the remaining money on drinks with friends later in the day.

If he wants to go dutch, it is very simple. Agree and then delete and block. Never see him or waste words on him again.

I go prepared to pay. If he wants to go dutch I allow my legitimate surprise to register, laugh a little, say that I would just never do that on a date - then spring for the bill. Not in a tantrum-y way, but in a just-save-the-server-the-hassle-of-splitting-it way. It's happened twice. You'd think that as pissy as the LV types get over paying for dates they'd have been thrilled with their free meal, but they both seemed really embarrassed.

We can all afford to feed ourselves so I'm not interested in score keeping over a dollar amount. It really is purely the sentiment behind it that means something to me. Springing for the bill in it's entirety is worth it to me to leave no room for a man who just disqualified himself to feel in any way justified in pestering me in the future now that I know he's about to be nexted.

I know this strays from FDS, but I feel more boss springing for a bill than I do accepting some dutch bullshit or pretending I don't have money. Prob different if you're a student, but I'm not and I find it worth the cost of a meal to be quickly and comfortably rid of someone who I know I don't want to see again.

Of course you should never pay on dates. Ive never understood women who do. I mean, are you Dutch? If not, why would you ever "go Dutch"?

I have never paid for a date, continue leaving your wallet at home or in your car . If he asks you to split excuse yourself to the bathroom and go home.
