To be clear, I'm asking for advice for AFTER social isolation ends.
I'm a conventionally attractive woman. If I'm being honest, I'm probably more than conventionally attractive. I have a solid life, and I think I'm pleasant to be around, assertive, intelligent, funny, kind, ambitious, and hardworking. I don't mean to be up my ass. I just want to lay out what the situation is. I do have flaws, of course. I've been out of the loop with social rules (e.g. no sex without investment). I feel a little out of place with these dating norms as I've always done whatever I felt like (to my detriment, I think). My assertiveness can come off as aggression when I'm just making clear, strong points (I don't think people, especially men, are used to this from women). And I become silently competitive with my lovers for no reason at all (e.g. If he says he ran X number of miles, I'll run X miles. If he achieved some professional milestone, I will do it too even if it takes years. If he knows Urdu, I'll learn Urdu and never tell him about it).
I don't want for men asking me out online, from strangers on dating apps to acquaintances on social media. However, it's usually ME making the moves in person, online. I know I'm not supposed to chase but if I don't, I would almost never get a date with someone I'm getting along with. Guys will talk forever and only jump when I make the move. Not only that, I haven't been asked out IN PERSON in maybe two years. I feel like all guys want to do is hide behind a screen. How do I get asked out in person more? I have no problem asking guys out in person but I think it's time for me to change up my approach because I feel like I'm always the initiator.
