Follow-up: it went great! He was so sweet! His biggest concern was if it made sex difficult for me! So happy. Still don't know if he's the one for me but this has given me a lot of confidence.

I’m in the same boat. My LVM ex Gave it to me (herpes 1. The more common type). I’ve heard of women disclosing it to a partner and the partner accepting it because they truly love her for who she is. They just continue to take precautions, such as not having sex when breakouts occur or using condoms. My break up is sort of fresh though and I haven’t started seeing anyone new so I am not sure myself how to disclose it 😫

A lot of people have herpes. I've seen couples where one of them has much more serious, deadly STDs like HIV, and they live with it fine. They just make sure to be really careful and always use protection.

The thing you have to keep in mind is that oral sex will probably always be out of the question. But other than that, as long as you use a condom, it should be fine. If a man can't understand this, then he really isn't a HVM. Or maybe he just wants different things for him, which is fine and reasonable.

The point is, you have to tell him either way. Just don't do it right as you're getting hot and bothered, though, that's really not the time. Do it when you feel confident, are in a calm environment, before anything sexy happens.

I have to warn you you may face rejection again. But if someone doesn't want to be with you because of that, then you just need to realize that person was not meant for you anyway, and move on to better things. Good luck!

That is a hard situation. If he doesn't already have herpes, you're basically asking him if he wants to get herpes.
