Hello ladies.

I’ve been a long-time lurker and a few months ago began participating in this sub and it has been absolutely life changing.

The handbook and women in this sub have been like the older sisters and momma’s I wish I had before.

I’m grateful that I’ve gotten so far in life and have leveled-up to be who I am today. I am confident in who I am, what I have to offer, and how I will never tolerate disrespect again. I love my friends, job, hobbies, and my tome alone. I’ve been single for nearly a year (by choice) and have used this time to continue to transform myself. However, sometimes I think about how the knowledge, growth, etc. had to come from being disrespected and treated like shit by an NVM. I wish I could’ve figured this out without having to go through the crap I went through and wish I found this sub in my teens.

I haven’t quite figured out why I feel sad about it sometimes. It may be because I’m hurt about the past betrayals from someone I trusted and cared so much for, or maybe I’m just ashamed that I ever put myself in that position in the first place. I don’t know.

I feel like I put most of the past behind me, but sometimes I look back and still feel sad about my past. How do you ladies deal when you do (if you ever) feel like this?
