"Happens to men too" should be "Happens to men too, by other men" What exactly are you contributing to this dialogue? Stop pretending like you have something to contribute to the conversation when you are very obviously just trying to derail and distract.

They make no sense. They just say anything to shut women up. And sadly, most women do shut up-- most women get freaked out by men coming at them with Ted Bundy energy. Men act so fucking insane online that they manage to infiltrate or corrupt most female online spaces (going as far as pretending to be women users), and they heavily censor, if not outright gaslight or bully women in online spaces with both men/women. In real life, women are afraid to say anything-- which is why metoo happened. And men act like that is some kind of conspiracy. It's not a conspiracy or a plot against males-- it's women finally speaking.

They don't care about male-on-male rape, or even pedophiles raping little boys (if they did, they wouldn't be such pedophile sympathizers)-- they just want women to shut the fuck up.

There was a post about FGM on the front page yesterday and I shouldn't have read the comments because of course it was full of dipshits talking about circumcision and claiming that women are responsible for FGM (ignoring the fact that FGM is only a thing because of patriarchy and the weird obsession males have with their daughter's virginity)

Psychology grad here. Men complete suicide at higher rates than women because they use more LETHAL means, whereas women actually ATTEMPT suicide at a higher rate than men but do not pass away because they use non-lethal methods as a “cry for help.” Where is the outcry for the high suicide attempt rate in women? And if male suicide is so important to these MRAs, then why don’t they focus on reducing stigma, raising awareness, funding suicide prevention organizations, and actually trying to resolve the problem instead of ONLY bringing it up as a response to women’s issues? As a psychologist, suicide is a very important issue regardless of gender, and I would totally be for men’s rights activists doing something to help, but they’re just all talk. Unfortunately, as always.

This is a topic I actually had problems with a while now, but was always afraid to really talk about, because on a male-dominated website like Reddit I'd get tarred & feathered for this.

You see, the thing is this: society's reaction towards rape & assault is generally shitty.

Men get raped. Men also get raped by women. It's not cool to deny this, play it off as a joke (f.ex. prison rape jokes), call it just sex, or even tell raped men that "they are lucky" for being raped by a woman.

I also don't have problems when raped men come forward in general discussions about rape, HOWEVER this is exactly where the problem starts.

You see, the sentence of "men get raped too" -as far I noticed - doesn't just appear in conversations about rape in general.
They actually appear mostly in conversations where woman try to talk about their experiences of either being raped/fear of getting raped and are used to undermine/belittle same women.

Example: Woman talks about how she's scared of walking home at night. How she's careful about ever man she notices close to her. How she keeps attention to not walk to close to dark alleys in which she could easily be dragged.

Answer of men: "DON'T BE SO PARANOID! NOT ALL MEN! MEN GET MUGGED MORE THEN WOMEN! YOU'RE SO SEXIST!"

Woman says how she hates getting drinks by men. What if he gets angry when she rejects him? But then...what if the drink is spiced? Is the barkeeper in it?

"MEN ALSO GET RAPED! YOU'RE LUCKY TO GET GIFTS! HE WAS JUST TRYING TO BE NICE!"

And this goes for every conversation.
Be it depression (how often have you seen the typical mocking of a female teens depression? "uwu she just wants attention!"), suicide, addiction...

And you know the worst thing about it?

No one gives a fuck! Women have to generally worry more about these things, handle more backlash (aka men can get shamed for "not wanting it", but women are asked what they wore, why they didn't fight back etc.) and generally more negative consequences (unwanted pregnancy) then men, so please for the love of God stick to your own spaces.

It happened to my ex by a trusted older woman when he was a teen. He didn't want it. The problem with other men is they will make light of it to his face as if he won some prize. He did not. It didn't happen to them and will likely never happen to them now that they are big enough to defend themselves. If it didn't affect them, why should they care? Men have a hard time being empathetic or even sympathetic.

Men are so used to being on top and in charge of every single subject and area that when they see victims finally getting attention they scramble to get a spot too. They don't give a shit about helping or healing because they were never taught how.

I remember one of the first times I noticed this in real life. I was at work, discussing with my coworkers (similar age, all women) how uncomfortable we felt walking home late at night and how we all have been assaulted at least once in our lives. Thenone of the two guys present, who were generally well liked, started this bullshit 'Yeah but it totally happens to us too, once I was just waiting for a bus and this guy just comes out of nowhere and hits me'. We did ask him how the fuck it was relevant in a discussion about women being assaulted by men, though.

Hmmm... suicide is a really horrible thing. Men are more 'successful' at killing themselves, and women try to kill themselves more often using less lethal means.

In both cases it's a serious problem. However, I can't recall anyone bringing up suicide rates, either men or women, except to use it as debate point scoring. No one wants to ask "why do people (try to) kill themselves? And what can we do to prevent this from happening?"
