Maybe I am confused by the title, but I disagree with it (the title). A man should be asking for your consent to be in exclusive. That is not a trap. Both adults should consent, assuming is a trap FDS warns against. Early exclusivity is a red flag, asking to be exclusive after a period is not.

Just because he talks the talk (asks for exclusivity), does not mean he will walk the walk (be exclusive with you only).

I think the idea is that he should be acting as if you're exclusive well before bringing up labels. He should not be attempting the ho life, only to realize no one else wants him so he decides to be exclusive with you.
