I was watching a virtual lecture for my sociology of gender class today where the professor brought up a sickening statistic: According to a 1991 Uniform Crime Report from the FBI, the leading cause of injury to women in the US between the age of 15 and 44 is domestic violence.

If a person you are seeing starts to show red flags, especially if those flags indicate that person may become violent later on in the relationship, please leave. Don't let yourself become part of that statistic. You deserve better.
