Social Media definitely isn't the full photo. You won't see posts about fights, debts, pending divorce, how the household duties are split,etc. A picture is only a second in time. Some people go so far as to curate their social media by using filters, photoshop, facetune, etc to make themselves look great. They may fake a smile or force their spouse to be in it. There's no way to know how they live or how they got to that point.

It's best not to get too caught up in what people are posting. You can always take a break from FB, limit how much time you're on it, mute people who's posts seem to bother you. That way you're not getting it so much of the time.

I’m 25F- for some reason, when I see engagement/marriage/baby pics from people I went to HS with- I simply don’t care at all. I love my single life and still have so much to do before I get married, etc. I’m working on my self, my friendships, my career, and my bank account.

I was married with a kiddo at 23, also struggling to get into nursing school while being poor and managing a lame ass husband.

Technically I had all of the things you are seeing other people obtain, but I was so miserable. Social media only shows the good.

What I mean by all of this is comparison is the thief of joy. Follow your own timeline. There is nothing that says you need to have xyz completed by a certain date. Enjoy your journey getting there.

Social media is all glam. Your classmates probably aren't going to post about the petty fights, money problems, failed exams, etc. No one's life is as shiny as their Instagram.

Here's the thing....people who are happy and doing the damn thing generally don't need to boast about how happy they are on social media. Don't follow everyone's highlight reel when your movie is still in pre-production. You do you boo! You got this!
