I actually really like MAFS (US here), and I typically don’t like reality shows. It’s interesting to spot the orange and red flags, to see who has good reasons to seek marriage vs. who doesn’t, and especially to see good vs. bad communication styles (can also be educational). It gets me thinking about the dynamics of past relationships and relationships in general. It’s kind of an opportunity to practice discernment and evaluation. The matchmakers can be weird but they have insights about relationship dynamics that most of our parents didn’t teach us.

I did see one season where they matched a woman with a man who was clearly not a match for her and then gaslighted her about needing to adjust her expectations...it’s probably not the only one. But I also found one of the couples quite endearing together, and it was fun to watch their story. (They’re still married several years later, with kids.)

1) Melissa and Brice. He is a terrible person and she’s desperate. 2) Sam and Cam. He is a misogynist. She is a GREAT person with impeccable morals. 3) Jason and I can’t recall her name. Yeah I don’t understand - if I met a 35 year old party boy, you can GUARANTEE I’d vet him extensively and probably still break up with him anyway because as we’ve all seen ladies, a good man can find a good woman easily. If he’s been single for a long time, it’s usually a bad sign.

MAFS Australia is a red flag parade which I just found a bit depressing.

I have stopped at Season 7 as it was getting obvious that they were putting some pretty awful people in it just for the ratings.

There’s no scrote like an Australian scrote and I speak from experience ladies.
